Increased number of save slots. You can always just make backup copies of your saves, so adding more slots is just a big convenience. Also the original has save screenshots as well now, which is very helpful.

Increased Save locations? Unsure if thats needed if thats what you were saying. There's always, if anything, too many saves, like every time a 'Threat' is about to happen.
