Life updates + taking requests
🕑 Added 2021-05-21 01:02:54 +0000 UTCHey guys! Here are some important life updates. However they lead to three simple news, which I’ll write first so you can choose if you’d like to read the latter or not:
- I’m ⭐taking patreon request until the ond of Friday⭐ and then drawing them (in the complexity/style I choose) on stream on Saturday! I want to celebrate a couple things and while streaming has become a bit difficult, I miss it. Please comment what you’d like in the comments or on discord in the drop-you-refs channel, I’d like to read it all in a couple places instead of individual conversations, cause that way I may forget some stuff :’y. You can send links to refs. Stream will be on Saturday at 6:30 pm (Lima / GMT -5)
- After almost a year on Patreon, I finally have a better sense of what I can offer and I’ll change my tiers accordingly. I’ll let you know here first on a different update so you can let me know your opinions or suggestions if you have any!
- If your birthday is coming soon let me know on a message! I make birthday doodles for my patrons.
That concludes the practical part. Now onto my life. I a lot has happened so it's a bit long.
- By the end of March, some friends and I built a team to apply to a workshop to produce a short film. We ended up being one of the four selected teams and have been working on it since April 10th! The point of this workshop is to produce a 1 minute animated short film with all the stages and roles used in the animation industry, and it’s very useful to better understand the process and how the different areas relate to each other. Every week we have two professionals giving mentorships besides having to organize and work on our own production. I’m the art director of my team and so far it has been a journey. We’re on the pre production stage, designing and developing characters and props and starting with backgrounds, so it’s a very busy stage for the art department. We’ll eventually share the art we are all making but so far I can show you my very first sketches to explore the two characters of the story (they look very different now):
- After posting this I’m heading to a call with my team and then moving on to assign new tasks to the art department. This was a long way to say that streaming has become very difficult. I was trying to find a more predictable pace so I could re schedule but so far I can’t. At first I was thinking that maybe I could make spontaneous streams but unplanned meetings happen a lot of times. I believe things will get easier once we get into the production stage but right now it’s wild.
- In the last month I also went crazy preparing portfolios and applications for different things. One of them was the workshop, and another one was to apply for a scholarship at an art school in Spain. And I got it 🔥 The last 8 days I’ve been trapped in the whirlwind that was trying to pay tuition and properly submitting papers to get officially enrolled. Did I get in? I HOPE SO, they haven’t let me know yet, but meanwhile I’ll just keep working as if uncertainty didn’t consume every bit of energy I have left. Either way I’m still looking for chances to go to work or study in another country. Here's a small portfolio I made on wix if you'd like to take a look. - But moving onto good news, it finally happened. Last week I received confirmation that I finally finished paying my college’s debt ;w; 🎉. This is really big news for me, almost every big decision I took since May 2020 was in order to pay that debt. Finally getting a Patreon page and taking commissions again were two of the many things I made. And as my patrons (and, in many cases, also commissioners) you have been part of this and for that I’m very thankful! 🌼. I want to celebrate with a couple streams as I draw requests from you. That’s what I’m celebrating in point 1 on the top of this is journal heheh.
That was a long way of saying that I've been busy. Now I'm looking for some certainties to organize my time and efforts better. That doesn't mean I'm not drawing, I just have been very slow the last two weeks.

Wow! This is all such great news! I mean, most of it. The debt and your portfolio and everything else. Amazing job :) I hope things continue to go well for you in life. Hmm. For a sketch, what about a nude French catgirl napping on an old style fainting couch under a sun beam.
