Brixel 1.2: Nature Update, part 2

Here comes the second update for Brixel!
You can download your version of the pack from the posts tagged as "Download - latest". Please make sure that you follow the installation instructions, so that the pack can work properly.
There is also a new version of BSL shaders available (v8.1 preview 1) - it features various improvements, so go get if BSL is your favourite!
It's recommended to use the pack with the latest stable version of Optifine, which is OptiFine HD U G8 (Minecraft 1.16.5). The preview version of Optifine for 1.17 might work, but it's not been fully testedv with Brixel.
Brixel 1.2 is the second nature-related update, and comes with a bunch of new content.
So, what's new?
First of all - as many of you requested on Discord, we have now textured the GUI in Brixel-style! The hotbar has been reworked and there are added bricky icons for health, hunger, experience, etc.
Nether Portal has been textured and comes in this update, as you have seen in the video for 1000 Patrons. Obsidian bricks have slight different aesthethics than the rest of the blocks, to resemble molten lava. The portal itself and the particles are brixelified as well!
Besides from adding new blocks and vegetation like Bamboos, Bushes, etc, we've been also working on some more complex models. Cobweb and Mushrooms received custom bricky models - they were fun to create and we're happy with the result. We hope that you're gonna like them as well! :)
When it comes to new tools, Shovel and Axe have been added. This makes the list of all basic tools complete! The shield has been textured as well - it looks as majority of you requested in the poll and supports banners!
There is one thing worth mentioning when it comes to performance. Texturing more blocks involves that so called "texture atlas" that Minecraft uses for loading textures goes to higher resolution. This results in some FPS drop, that may be noticeable with this update - it concerns especially 1024x versions. This is pretty much standard and unavoidable for all resource packs, but we will be working on a solution that will make Brixel run smoother.

A proposal: add some nether block
Update, I don't know what the issue was, but I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled it all and now it works just fine. But now the Game is running in 256x mode and not the 1024 one that I have installed. Is there some easy mistake im making?

Hi Ezra , please contact us on support channel on discord and tell us more about your system and which shader and texture pack you are running. We will try our best to help you solve it but we need more system /in game information to do so.
I got the new update but it runs terrible? I understand it added more textures but my 3070 is getting 30 fps with a chuck distance of 10, which seems a little low. Did I do something wrong? It seems to be running up to date with the new textures, just really slow.
