TYFTC! I love Brynn’s use of the alchemy and ghost extension! I am still puzzled about what The Acolyte was saying about his “True Lord”, as in who is he referring to and how does that fit in. Oh, could the True Lord be the entity that the previous gods were trying to gain power to defeat? That would be interesting… The Briarwraith as a memory conduit is interesting, especially since I wonder the memories that he had as a god weren’t wiped, but siphoned off and saved in the Deep Stream…

Thank you!!! I think sometimes people just enjoy a scene and move on, so it's really nice of you to take a second to tell me you liked it. I appreciate it :)

Woo, that last scene was really well done.

The acolyte only recognized him after seeing him use his skill so that could be a good reason.

Why did a random acolyte in the woods recognize him? And why didn't he recognize him before when he glanced over (and kill him then), instead of only during combat? Wouldn't an acolyte truly obsessed with Ithariel have killed him on sight? IMO the only explanation is that Ithariel 1) can predict that he would be here and 2) wants him to encounter a briarwraith. I feel like the acolyte shouldn't say anything (if the above isn't true), or the acolyte should say something justifying why he doesn't kill him earlier. Like "Rake back off, you know the deal. The True Lord needs him in particular for his plan"

Maybe all the memories they gave up had to go somewhere? Cue a countryside full of wraiths in the general area where he's restarting.

Thanks for the chapter! And what??? What's his connection to the briarwraith of all things? Or rather Seraphil's connection? Honestly I may be wrong but perhaps they did it wrong... Maybe the prestige system was actually meant to be used way earlier not on the absolute peak of power but several times every run getting easier and you gaining more power and extra skills and abilities... But that's simply me relating to how I usually play prestige in games. I always hated grinding to the absolute ceiling for marginal gains instead of rather prestiging earlier and then in return have more time in the "fun parts" that's the early climb. Though this also depends on the gamedesign ofc.

Beeees!

Really pushed to the brink to consider prestiging i guess.
