In a room, lighted only by the few sunrays of the early morning, a young dark-haired boy was lying on his bed, he was covered in blankets and he seemed a little stressed while he was sleeping until…
“Victoire!” The young boy suddenly screamed as he woke up from a nightmare.
The boy has emerald eyes and he’s completely confused, he’s panting as he looks at his surroundings.
“What the…Was all that a dream?!” He asked himself as he realized where he was. “It can’t be…” The young boy said to himself before the door suddenly opened.
An older version of the young boy with different eyes suddenly opened the door with a concerned expression, there was also a woman with red hair and emerald eyes alongside the man, it didn't take too long for her to run as fast as she could to embrace the young boy.
“Harry…It’s okay dear…The nightmare is over!” The woman said as she tried to comfort him.
As for Harry, his eyes were open wide, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, he tried to find the logic in this situation and not let his emotions take over his senses because apparently, his parents, the ones who supposedly died when he was a baby were now by his side.
“What the…Mum? Dad? What’s going on here?” Harry asked with a trembling tone.
“Well, it’s obvious what’s going on here dear…You had a nightmare but don’t worry, it's already over,” the woman said with a cheerful tone.
“But…You were supposed to be dead…Voldemort killed you and then he tried to kill me but it didn’t work…It was thanks to your sacrifice that his killing curse backfired against himself!” Harry tried to tell his supposed parents what was going on.
James and Lily Potter stared into each other’s eyes, they were concerned about this revelation, it seemed like what Harry was saying didn’t make any sense and they didn’t know who that Voldemort bloke was.
“But that’s beside the point…I was on a quest to rescue a friend who got lost, he’s a curse-breaker that got lost in the Yucatan peninsula,” Harry said with a worried tone.
He knew his parents would think he was insane but he was sure that what he was saying was true.
“Also…I’m not a kid anymore, I'm almost in my forties, and I'm an Auror…My friends and I were lost in a temple where we fought against monsters, we solved riddles and puzzles, and we defeated a skeleton dragon too!” Harry tried to make his parents see that he was telling the truth.
His parents suddenly shared a look and then they sighed before they smiled at him.
“I always knew your mind was gifted Harry but this is beyond what I believed…You have the power to control and remember your dreams, that’s a trait very few witches and wizards have and requires lots of training,” Lily couldn’t help but feel awed.
“Take that Malfoy and your potion genius son!” James couldn’t help but say with a proud tone.
In different circumstances, Harry would have laughed too but he was analyzing his current situation. He couldn’t believe everything he had lived to this point was just a dream.
“Charlie…Hermione…Victoire…Were they just products of my imagination?” Asked Harry to himself.
“Well…You’re always playing with Ron and his brothers, right? Doesn’t he have a brother named Charlie?” Asked Lily with a raised brow. “And wasn't Hermione your new friend that you met in Diagon Alley? You’re starting Hogwarts with her in a few hours!” The redhead said with a confused expression.
“Now I think it’s my fault you had that dream, Harry…We stayed till late yesterday practicing quidditch and it was the first time you beat me catching the snitch, you celebrated your <<victory>> after humiliating your chaser dad!” James couldn’t help but smile at him.
“Also, you’ve been binge-watching those Indiana Jones movies you love so much that you won’t be able to watch them in Hogwarts, dear,” Lily patted his head and Harry couldn’t help but sigh.
He didn’t want to believe this was real, as far as he knew, he could be inside a dream right now even though he had just woken up, so, he decided to not say anything else and just nod at his parents.
“Come on, get dressed, we’ll have our last breakfast before you part to Hogwarts, okay?” His mother kissed him on his forehead before she took James who nodded at Harry with a smile.
Harry just stood in his bed contemplating and thinking about the dream he just had, it was the longest dream ever, it was so long and it didn’t make sense that everything happened in the span of a night.
“So…This is the fourth floor, right? You dungeon masters are cruel, I think I know what you’re trying to do…You’re tempting us by giving us what we always wanted so we couldn’t continue…That’s genius,” Harry said as he stared at the roof.
He now had a serious expression, he had no idea how to get out of there and he had no way to prove that he was trapped in an illusion, so, there was just one thing he could do, but he needed to remain calm, he needed to know if the illusion worked in the way he was thinking it worked.
“It seems to be trying to force me to stay by making all the people I’ve loved come back to life, let’s find out if my theory is true,” Harry couldn’t help but gulp.
What he was planning to do is going to be horrible, and in case he ends up being wrong and turns out that everything was actually a dream, then things are going to get ugly, an Azkaban cell would be waiting for him in case he’s wrong about his assumptions.
He decided to get dressed and get down to eat breakfast, right now what was important was to make sure that the supposed figures of his parents didn’t realize that he knew this wasn’t real, so, he decided to comply with them and even though he tried to pretend as much as he could, this felt too real for him to not feel emotionally affected.
After they finished breakfast, Harry got properly dressed before he and his parents took him to King’s Cross station but there were also some other people Harry loved too, Sirius and Remus were there and Harry couldn’t help but sigh.
“Hey guys!” Sirius said with a happy expression.
“Hey!” Remus reached out to help Harry with his trunk.
Soon, the whole family got inside a platform specially made for the Hogwarts Express and surprisingly, they seemed to be the first family to arrive.
“Well, it looks like we got here early,” James said with a concerned and nervous tone.
“It doesn’t matter, it’s essential for Harry to get to Hogwarts as soon as—” Lily couldn’t continue before she was suddenly hit with a killing curse.
Soon, everyone was staring at Harry with shocked and scared expressions. The young boy had an angry expression and he had his wand out ready to attack anyone who dared to confront him.
“Why did you do that?! You killed your mother!” James got his wand ready to attack him.
“My mother?! MY MOTHER?! She wasn’t my mother…That was just an illusion, everything here is fake and I know it is because all of you are dead and I’m the one responsible for your deaths, that’s why it’s my duty to send you back to where you come from!” Harry said with an angry tone.
He was also sad but most of all, he was angry at the dungeon masters for doing something like this, he had to kill his supposed mother, the one he always wanted to meet, and now she was lying on the floor and Harry was worried he had committed a crime until her body turned into shadows which confirmed Harry's theory, this wasn’t real.
