Victoire was in tears, the day went by and the dead continued visiting their loved ones, Harry, Hermione, Charlie, and Victoire were waiting for Bill and to say that they were happy but sad at the same time would be an understatement and that is because now at the end when all the souls were parting back to the other world, Bill was nowhere to be found which only meant one thing.
“He didn’t come…He’s still alive,” Harry said with a soft smile on his face.
And that was enough to make the younger blonde sob harder, but those tears she was letting out were tears of happiness not of sadness, Charlie looked like he was holding his tears, Hermione had happy silent tears too while Harry was motivated, they were going to find him, he owed the Weasleys this after what they did for him and after what happened with Fred.
“Well, I guess it’s time,” Harry said before they were approached by Lola who was standing side by side with Lucero.
“It seems like in the end, we were wrong…No matter how many souls I asked, none of them saw your guy,” Lola said seriously. “Well, I guess I'm going to help you guys, I made a promise, pick up the stuff you want to bring to this adventure and meet me here in an hour,” Lola said with a serious tone.
“We’re going to prepare you guys for the ritual,” Lucero told them with a shy smile as she checked out Harry’s face. “I suggest you guys only bring the essentials, your wands, and just some clothes as we will be magically cleaning and drying them anyway,” Lucero added and they nodded, they were surprised by her attitude, she seemed to know something they didn’t.
Harry was too focused on their adventure, so, he just ignored the slightly flirtatious exchange with Lucero before he smiled at her and soon, they were in the guest rooms where Lola let them stay, magic was amazing, even though there were at least thirty relatives here during the celebrations, there was space for everyone, Harry and his friends even got a room on their own.
After an hour, they were already wearing the appropriate clothes for an adventure like this, considering the weather and the temperature, they went for light-colored shirts, blue jeans, and black boots, they had everything they needed in their small magical backpacks that had a lot of space and were practically weightless, they had their wands ready in case they needed them.
They were surprised to see that Lucero was dressed like them and she was also holding a backpack and a bag too, suddenly their thoughts were interrupted when Lola joined them, she was wearing a white dress and they were surprised to see that instead of a wand she was using a staff made of wood that looked like it was ready to crumble.
“Well, I guess it’s time, please everyone, let’s take our hands, we’re going to apparate to the location where the ritual is going to take over,” Lola told them and they did as they were told.
Harry’s eyes widened the moment they appeared in a new place, they were on some kind of ancient platform in the middle of a forest, and on each corner, there was a figure which meant that there were four figures of what looked to be Mayan warriors, one had a weapon, another a magical staff, other had what looked to be a parchment, and the last one simply had nothing.
But the most surprising thing in his opinion were the many symbols written on the floor with some kind of red ink and they looked fresh, maybe this is why Lola needed an hour, and speaking about the old woman, she suddenly made a movement with her staff and soon a purple flame appeared on each of the warrior’s feet.
Lucero suddenly took a few things from the bag, it seemed like she got what looked to be some kind of beverage, some little plants that looked like cacti, and a knife, Lucero suddenly cut each one of the cacti in half pieces before she handled one to Harry and his companions.
“Please, lick the insides of this cactus but before you do it, I ask you to ignore what you’re going to see at first,” the young woman was serious right now.
It didn’t take too long for Harry and his group alongside Lola and Lucero to start to lick the plant they had been given, at first, Harry and his friends were a bit confused as to why they needed to do that but then, their vision started to blurry, it was as if reality started to get distorted.
The colors that were surrounding them were suddenly changing and instead of being a normal steady color, the colors reminded Harry of some kind of moving rainbow, soon, he also started to see strange things, the trees suddenly had eyes, plants were angry at him, he was seeing bigger and bigger insects, and also he was seeing small light orbs moving everywhere.
“Are we sure we need to be in this state to get access? Wouldn’t be dangerous to get inside in this current state?” Harry asked with a concerned tone.
“It is necessary as the door only appears to people when they’re able to see the mystical world that surrounds us, I’m sorry but all the things you guys see are always there, it’s because of this cactus that you have the range of vision to see them,” Lucero told the group with a calm expression.
“Don’t worry about them, they’re harmless or else they would’ve killed humanity already, they’re just having fun as they don't expect you to see them, they can’t harm you so don’t worry,” Lola tried to assure them.
Harry felt a little confused, he knew he shouldn’t be acting like this, after all, they were the ones who asked for this, however, he didn’t expect to feel like he had been drugged and the worst thing was that it was working, no matter how many muggle drugs wizards consume they do not affect them, it was incredible how that small magical cactus was enough to make them hallucinate.
“Well, it’s time,” Lola said with a serious tone and suddenly she made six recipients appear.
She poured the green beverage onto the recipients and handled each one to them, Harry was surprised by the smell, it had a very natural smell like it was made with tons of herbs but all of them were new to Harry, he knew this was a potion but it was new for him.
“Drink it all, it will help you to not become insane when the exchange happens,” Lucero told them and soon they gulped the whole thing.
The taste was strange, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t something Harry looked forward to drinking again, after they drank the beverage, the flames of the warriors became bigger, and suddenly some things appeared, there were four small statues with their hands looking like they were asking for something, Lola and Lucero quickly told them to stand in front of each statue.
“You need to know something, for the door to appear, unless you’re the one making the ritual inscriptions, you need to pour some blood on the hands of the servant statues, and then, the guards are going to give you a loan to grant you access, what they’re asking in exchange for that is the most important thing for you as a wizard or witch,” Lucero explained with a serious tone.
“Go ahead,” Lola tried to encourage them, she knew they were worried.
They did as they were told, with a small cut from the knife Lucero brought, they poured some blood on the pillars they were surprised when their cuts were healed after the statues started to glow, suddenly, from the big warrior statues, the warriors made an appearance in spirit form but they had a normal human size this time, soon, in their imaginations something happened.
It seemed like the warriors were inspecting them, but Harry’s eyes widened the moment one of them sliced the arm he used to hold his wand, and he was about to scream because of that but then, he realized that his arm was still there and yet, the warrior seems to have claimed his arm.
In Hermione’s case, she thought she felt like her intelligence disappeared but she was fine, in Charlie’s case he didn’t know what they took from him but for a moment he suddenly felt like a coward as if he were scared of Dragons, as for Victoire, it seems like she was stripped from her veela form, now the four warriors were standing in front of Harry and his friends with the things they apparently took from them.
“Don’t worry about what you saw, that’s just a representation…They know what you want to achieve from this journey, so, in case you get lost, they’re going to take all those things from you guys and you'll wander on the lost lands until you perish,” the group suddenly gasped at Lola’s explanation.
But suddenly, a golden door appeared and this was the moment they expected, either they embraced their Gryffindor roots or backed down.
