Voldemort couldn’t believe it, Nagini, his precious familiar, and the one who held a piece of his soul, the one he tried to keep as safe as possible in case he'd need to use the piece of soul inside her, he was trying to save her from the danger, even as a magical snake she could get attacked by other animals, but even in the realm of possibilities it was hard for Voldemort to see a human being a danger to her, never in his mind, he thought that someone would be able to get too close enough to kill her and yet it happened.
Thanks to Snape’s distraction, Harry Potter was looking at him with a defiant expression after he slayed Nagini, which only meant one thing, he knew what Nagini was and he probably knew about the other objects too, however, Voldemort didn’t have too much time to think about what the Potter boy knew because Potter didn’t rest after what he did.
After killing Nagini, he approached him and the dark lord was too distracted and it seems like Potter wanted to end things muggle style because as soon as he was close to him, he swung the dagger he used to kill Nagini and the dark couldn’t believe it, he managed to dodge it and he didn't know why but he was happy to have avoided that.
“Potter…Do you dare to—” The dark lord was about to say but suddenly he realized something.
There was a cut on his cheek and he was bleeding, which confirmed what he was fearing, it seemed like Potter or anyone else had taken care of the rest of the Horcruxes, he was bleeding, he was human again, or at least physically he was human.
“You can feel it don’t you, Tom Riddle?” Harry asked him after using a charm to make his voice as loud as a microphone so the rest of the school could only hear his name.
There were gasps not only from the light faction but also coming from the death eaters, none of the pureblood recognized the last name Riddle, it sounded too muggle for them.
“They’re gone Tom, your treasures, this is over, it’s time for you to die and never come back!” Harry said with a cold tone as he suddenly took out his wand.
“Potter!” To say Voldemort was angry would be an understatement.
The dark wizard suddenly took the elder wand and a battle started, even though he was now a mortal, he was still the strongest wizard alive, he launched a spell that caused a great explosion towards Harry, however, the younger wizard wasn’t that bad, he was able to cast a spell that sucked the power of that attack.
Meanwhile, many death eaters started to run away from the battlefield, they didn't know why but it seemed like they had lost faith in their lord, however, not so many were able to escape as a group of Aurors who were against the current government appeared and not only they overpowered most of the followers of the dark lord but also, they also killed a lot, after all, the unforgivables are legal right now.
The people who fought against the death eaters wanted to celebrate but right now they were completely focused on watching the fight between Harry and Voldemort, they were exchanging spells and causing havoc in many parts of Hogwarts.
“Yes, I love that expression Tom…You try to look tough but it’s the same expression Bellatrix had when I destroyed the cup,” Harry mocked the older wizard whose eyes widened as he confirmed what he feared.
“Go ahead, keep laughing, but no matter—” Voldemort was suddenly stopped.
“You don’t care if some of your Horcruxes are destroyed as long you have a backup, right? I’m sorry Tom but all of them have been destroyed…The diary was destroyed by me, the ring by Dumbledore, the locket was destroyed by my friend Ron, I was informed Hermione destroyed the diadem, the cup was destroyed by me after I used imperio on Bellatrix the day you sent us to the Carrow manor,” Harry couldn’t help but say with an arrogant expression and soon the attacks started again.
“You killed Nagini!” The dark lord said furious.
“But there’s another one Tommy…There was one you killed, would you like to know which one it was?” Asked Harry with a smirk as he continued dodging and attacking back the dark wizard.
Voldemort was completely confused, what Potter was saying didn’t make any sense, the dark wizard stared at Harry’s face for a few moments and then his eyes widened and he realized something, he didn’t have the scar, and now all made sense, the connection, his powers at such a young age, the ability to speak with snakes.
“You…You are a Horcrux!?” Voldemort asked with a shocked expression.
Yet, he was a bit hopeful, maybe if he could negotiate with Potter, he would be able to keep on living, after all, Dumbledore surely must have taught him to forgive rather than hate your enemies.
“I was…I was an accidental Horcrux, the night you killed my parents, you created another one, and the piece of soul was stored in my body…<<Was>> is the keyword...Remember when you used the cruciatus on me with a random wand a few days ago?” Asked Harry with a smirk on his face.
Tom couldn’t believe it, he was outsmarted, there was no way to escape in case he was killed by Potter, he had to kill him first and soon and create a last horcrux, he was about to cast the killing curse against Harry but he couldn’t do anything, he suddenly felt as if he was paralyzed and even Potter stopped what he was doing.
“It seems like the venom has finally taken an effect on you,” Harry said with an amused expression.
“What…The…Venom?” Asked the dark lord and soon his eyes widened before he touched his cheek where the dagger had let a little cut. “Was that dagger poisoned?!” Voldemort couldn’t believe it.
“Yes Tom, very few things can kill horcruxes, the killing curse works sometimes, fiendfyre too but the most effective thing against Horcruxes I have found is basilisk venom…In fact, not only this dagger is made with basilisk fangs but it’s covered with basilisk venom,” Harry stated clearly prepared for this moment.
“Basilisks…They are rare, how did…Well, of course, it’s my basilisk, right?” Asked the dark lord with a desperate tone.
“Bravo! Your diary led us to the chamber of secrets where I killed your basilisk in my second year…And I’m sorry to say this Tom but you’re not going to get the glorified death that you wish, I’m just going to let the venom take care of you, however…Expeliarmus!” Harry suddenly said and soon the elder wand got back to where it belonged, it felt right for Harry to have it.
The dark lord was about to use wandless magic but suddenly he started to cough blood before he fell on his knees.
“Don’t worry…This wand was never yours to begin with, Dumbledore asked me to disarm him and then Malfoy disarmed him and then you decided to disarm Malfoy according to Narcissa's memories that I invaded without her noticing…Well, that doesn’t matter anymore, you’re going to die soon but before you go some people want to meet you,” Harry said with a cold tone.
He called for his firebolt and soon, he returned to the main battlefield where people suddenly cheered as they saw Harry on his Firebolt completely victorious with a grin on his face as he brought Lord Voldemort with him as if he was nothing but a rag doll, all of them were shocked to see the dark lord in such pathetic state.
“Listen to me, everyone…Lord Voldemort…Tom Riddle is about to die and he’s not coming back again, he is mortal once again, so, if you guys want to tell him something before he finally dies this is your opportunity!” Harry suddenly took Voldemort to the center and it didn’t take too long before he was insulted and beaten by the wizards and witches he hated so much.
Just like muggles do with their tyrants, the wizards and witches who fought against the death eaters were lynching Lord Voldemort but they were doing it muggle style, without wands what an ironic way to go for some who hates the impure and the muggles so much and before disappearing into the nothingness, he was greeted and mocked by the people he murdered but he wasn't going to accompany them, after dying, Voldemort just ceased to exist.
Meanwhile, at Malfoy’s manor, Narcissa has been working for hours to free her husband and son but no matter how much she tried, she still couldn't open the cage, she has used countless spells and her hands are bleeding but still, she can’t find a way to open it, however, suddenly, the cage started to glow and shortly the lock that keeps it guarded disappeared.
Narcissa didn’t hesitate to open it as this could be her only chance to open the cage and she was desperately soothing both Lucius and Draco as she opened the cage but then, her eyes widened at what she found…Lucius and Draco were dead.
