In the dining room in Malfoy’s manor, where the rich family usually eat their meals, a meeting was currently happening, it was a meeting between the dark lord and his closest allies, and surprisingly, even Harry Potter made it there but it was because of his lover.
Harry Potter was sitting next to Narcissa, she was clearly concerned and a little scared to be there but she tried to remain as calm as possible as the dark lord doesn’t like when his subordinates show weaknesses, yes, he likes to cause fear in them but they also need to pay attention to what he has to say, no one wants to risk him getting angry and being punished because they weren't behaving in the way he likes.
“My friends…The time is getting closer and closer…Mark the day in your calendars, in three days we’re going to make the final attack on Hogwarts, my spies there have already confirmed that the place has been taken over by the Order of the Phoenix and they seem to think that they have won,” Voldemort took a moment before he smirked.
Harry of course, he was aware of all of this, it was part of the plan that everyone in the order acted like that, of course, he didn’t want to show the dark lord that he was aware of the situation, so, he pretended to be shocked just like the rest of the death eaters in the room until Voldemort raised a hand to stop their reactions.
“Do not worry, that’s just part of the plan, the sweetest victory is the one you get after giving your prey a false sense of victory, trust me, you’re all going to love crushing their hopes once we attack them, right now they feel confident enough to face us but that won’t last for too long I can assure you that,” the dark lord couldn’t help but laugh.
The death eaters including Harry started to laugh too, some of them were happy to hear what the dark lord said while others were only pretending to be satisfied, some of them were tired of all this but they were too scared to voice their thoughts, so, they decided to remain in their positions and keep acting as the dark lord’s pets.
“It’s going to be so fun seeing them all worked up, ready to face us, and then, they’re going to see their hero…Harry Potter, Dumbledore’s poster boy taking the dark mark in front of them, and with that, we’re going to end the war, I know you guys are going to be a little disappointed as this is going to be a quick way to end it but there’ll be plenty of time to play with the real problem of our world…The muggles,” the dark lord’s tone was becoming more and more dark.
The death eaters looked at Harry who had a stoic expression, he was ready for whatever thing could happen, luckily they had a backup plan in case he completely died, however, for that plan to be effective, they needed to get rid of Nagini first, that’s what Harry has been completely focused on these past few days but sadly there hasn’t been a good chance for him to be alone with the snake.
“I’ll be honored to finally take the mark my lord, Narcissa and I will be happy to join you,” Harry said with a fake happy tone.
“You’re going to be a key piece for this plan, Harry Potter…I decided that it’s time to stop killing magical people regardless of their origin, blood can be purified but it will take time, however, I have all the time and the power of the world to do it…Once I end this war I’ll bring the magical people back to where they belong, we’ll get rid of muggles and we’re going to be back to the place that has been taken from us!” Voldemort was motivated.
To be honest, he didn’t care too much about that stuff, he just wanted more and more power, and considering the wizarding world is too small in population, the logical thing would be to search for more power in the muggle world and even if he hates those wizards and witches he didn’t consider blood adequate, he knows that there’ll be a time where he's going to conquer other magical countries, so, he needs as most help as he can get.
The most fanatical death eaters couldn’t help but get excited at their lord’s plan and the ones that were practically being forced to be there were scared, they didn’t know if it was the prejudice against muggles or something else, but the idea of attacking them didn’t sound good, after all, there’s a good reason why ancient wizards decided to come up with the statute of secrecy and that was when muggles were even more primitive than today.
“That’s why I need someone to help me with the plans to conquer the muggle world, someone with knowledge and that’s where enter Harry Potter,” Voldemort pointed at Harry with an amused expression.
He knew that by doing that he was remembering all the pureblood and dangerous people in the room that Harry was a half-blood muggle-born raised wizard who was a disgrace when it came to the death eater circle.
“I’d be more than happy to be of help my lord and I know someone who knows even more about the muggle world than me, I’ll introduce you to her once we finish the war,” Harry said with a fake happy tone.
“Oh, you’re talking about the Granger girl, right? Yes, we’ll make good use of her knowledge too before we kill her…Well, more like before you kill her, you’re going to be the one in charge of killing her, and that’s an order,” Voldemort wasn’t playing around.
Harry found it quite difficult but he managed to keep his feelings in check, the thought of killing his best female friend was something horrifying and he would prefer to die before doing that but all of them made a promise when they decided to embark on this mission and that was to never back down and do whatever is necessary to destroy him, he was hoping he wouldn’t have to get to that point where he has to kill Mione.
“Well, now that we’ve discussed everything I wanted to tell you, you’re free to leave and get ready, I want all of you in your best state for the final attack, I would love to not use force against our enemies and end this peacefully but if it comes to that, we won’t hesitate to be as brutal as possible,” the dark lord now dismissed them and soon, the whole group started to leave the room.
Harry of course was walking side by side with Narcissa, they were both holding hands and even if the young man was trying to look as strong as possible, Narcissa knew that there were some doubts in his mind and the blonde knew it was dangerous for him to feel like that, so, she decided to take him outside on the garden that had surprisingly many beautiful and dark-colored flowers.
“Are you okay Harry?” Asked the older blonde.
“Yes…I’m just feeling a little worried and I'm sure I'm living up to the expectations people have of me,” Harry declared with a worried tone.
He was of course talking about his friends, Dumbledore’s army, the order, the refugees in the Potter manor, all the people he has known and he knows he’s going to have to face them in the next few days, of course, Narcissa thought that he was referring to the death eaters.
“I know how you feel…” Narcissa’s words made him look at her with a confused expression.
“What’s troubling you Cissa?” Asked Harry as he embraced her.
“I made a promise with him Harry…I promised him something and each day that it passes I feel like that objective is getting more and more distant,” Narcissa couldn’t help but sigh.
Harry knew which person she was talking about, she was talking about her dead son, well, he was told Draco was dead, and he could relate to that feeling Narcissa has about disappointing the people who had already left you, he has felt like that about all the people who sacrificed themselves for him since he joined the death eaters, he couldn’t help but sigh.
As far as Narcissa knew, Draco and Lucius were still alive and being hidden under the dark lord’s throne but Harry didn’t know that, if he was aware Lucius was alive, he could betray her and the last thing Narcissa wanted was to lose a powerful ally like Harry in this difficult situation.
“It’s okay Cissa…No matter what happens, I’m sure that Draco is aware of the efforts you’re making while trying to fulfill your promise,” Harry told the older woman who stared at him with a sad smile.
Even if they were lying to each other, it was nice to find some comfort in someone they’ve been sharing the bed with these past few months. However, something they didn’t expect suddenly happened, they were now kissing as if the world around them didn't exist.
