“Wait please, don’t kill me!” A blonde woman said as she stood in the middle of the living room in Potter's Manor, everyone but Harry was pointing their wands at her.
“I don’t know if you’re aware but…Death eaters aren’t welcome here,” Tonks was furious.
“Wait, I’m not a death eater!” Narcissa showed her completely clean arms, there was no tattoo which showed that she didn’t have the dark mark.
“Even if you didn’t put that awful thing in your arms…Your son and husband are death eaters…It’s hard to believe you’re completely innocent,” Tonks now had a more threatening tone.
“I never said I’m innocent but I decided to leave that life behind…I left my husband and my son’s already an adult and he’s old enough to make his own decisions now, there’s nothing I can do to stop him but still…I want to save him from that path, that’s why I came here!” She said desperately and soon, a few tears escaped from her eyes.
The rest of the people in the room were surprised that she would be crying, well, everyone except Harry who was still shocked by the outcome of the trial.
“I wanted to appeal to your mercy and to show you that I’m being completely honest, there’s something I want to give you Nymphadora,” the older woman really tested her luck by saying Tonks’ real name.
However, before the Auror could angrily call the blonde witch, she suddenly took two crystal spheres out, still, they didn’t trust the spheres could be real, it could be a trap, or even worse, those spheres could be fake.
“Are those crystal balls…?” Asked Harry with a hopeful expression.
“Yes, these two crystal balls are authentic, I know Bellatrix taunted everyone in the trail but I know the names of those who have the real ones and where they’re hiding Mr. Potter,” the older blonde couldn’t help but feel bad for the younger man.
She was quite aware of his situation when it came to magic, after all, Harry’s mother became her potions apprentice in the summers when the redhead was still a student, around that time they became sort of friends but after the Death Eater movement became bigger, they had to keep their friendship as a secret as Narcissa didn’t want to risk Lily and her family’s life and Lily didn’t want to put Narcissa’s life in risk after the prophecy of the defeat of the dark lord was revealed.
“Wait a minute…You're saying you were in the trial but I don’t remember seeing you there,” Fleur said with her French accent that Harry thought was cute.
Everyone realized that Fleur said the truth, no matter how much they tried to remember the face of Narcissa in the trial, she wasn’t anywhere and then this arose the next question.
“How did you get here anyway? This house is too protected, it's hard to enter unless you're accompanied by one of the members of the Potter family,” Hermione couldn’t help but wonder.
After all, the first thing Hermione did after arriving at Potter manor was to admire the wards and the protective charms of the home, James Potter was really creative, and even if he looked like his days as a prankster were gone, he still applied what he learned during those days and his experience as an Auror to give the best protection he could to his family.
“Don’t tell me that…You were the cloaked stranger? The one who killed Bellatrix?” Harry asked with a serious tone.
It took a moment for Narcissa to say something, she was staring at her heels but then, she moved slowly towards them until she reached Nymphadora and placed the crystal spheres in her hands.
“Those two…Those are your parents’ souls…I’ll be honest with you, I don’t care too much about your father but after seeing that my sister Bellatrix didn’t hesitate to do this to her own sister Andromeda, I knew I had to do something before she turned into a monster…She was about to blow herself up alongside the people in the room, I’ve admired my sister for a long time but I knew that the sister I knew and loved was far too gone,” Narcissa confessed before sniffing.
The three people in the room, especially Nymphadora were shocked but she was glad that she did that, Bellatrix was a very powerful witch indeed and very devoted to her lord which made her more threatening, they didn’t voice their thoughts but to be honest they were glad she was gone.
“Yes…I was the one who killed her, I used a Polyjuice potion with a short duration to turn myself into a fly…Yes, a fly, I practiced for years and thanks to that I managed to avoid the Aurors and I managed to sneak in your clothes when you guys apparated here,” the blonde told them with a soft smile on her face.
They were surprised, the woman really thought very well about what to do, however, they knew she was lucky that she caught the Aurors and the ministry staff by surprise or else she would have joined her sister in the afterlife.
“Now, I know that you guys are going to tell the Aurors about me and that’s fine…I’m ready to face the consequences of my actions but I just want to ask you guys for something…” Narcissa begged desperately.
Harry and the girls were completely confused, however, the blonde had some important information, she knew where the rest of the souls were located, and they needed her information, Harry knew they had to do something.
“Uh…Could you wait here, I’d like to discuss what to do now with my friends,” Tonks told the blonde who nodded understanding the situation and soon, the Auror put a privacy charm to avoid the blonde from hearing them.
“What do we do now?” Asked Hermione completely taken aback by this development.
“Guys, I’m going to be honest with all of you, it’s true that her son and husband are now on the list of the most wanted wizards not only in the country but in the world, however…There are no charges against her, she’s not labeled as a death eater in the Auror department and she doesn’t even have the mark,” Tonks told her friend who now looked conflicted.
“We need to tell Moody about this, if there are no charges against her then we make a deal with her, I'm sure he'd understand the situation,” Harry intervened, he was hopeful that they could find the rest of the souls.
“I think we should listen to her request and under some conditions, I think she can collaborate with us,” the French witch said as she caressed her chin.
“Fleur’s right…I think she could make a magical vow to prove that she’s on our side and we’ll try to see if we can help and also offer her protection because I don’t think her group of friends is going to be happy about her betraying them,” Hermione explained with a serious tone.
Suddenly they nodded and agreed with their reasoning, Nymphadora made the privacy charm disappear and soon, they joined the blonde back.
“What is your request, Mrs. Malfoy?” Asked Harry with a calm tone.
“Please…Spare Draco…That’s the only thing I ask you, he wants to look cool for his father and he wants to prove his manliness by being a death eater but I know that right now he's scared and the guilt is killing him…If you promise to not kill him, I’ll give you all the information I have about the locations of the souls,” Narcissa said desperately.
“Aunt Narcissa…We have to tell Moody about this, don’t worry, even though he hates death eaters, he doesn’t condemn anyone without evidence,” Tonks said with a calm tone.
“Don’t worry…He tolerated your husband for decades, I’m sure he’s going to spare you as long as you cooperate with us,” Harry said with a charming smile.
The older witch had a lot of doubts before coming here, but she now felt more confident about this decision, she was going to save her son no matter what she had to do.
