Chapter #1: The gift.
“My lord, Narcissa…She’s here…And she brought what she promised you to,” a woman with dark curly hair said as she bowed in front of a man who looked like a monster, he was sitting on a throne.
He was surrounded by a lot of people in dark cloaks and he seemed a little skeptical about the words he just heard, however, he already warned his people what could happen if they lied to him, so, he couldn’t help but form a small smirk and nod.
“Okay but if she’s lying, you’re going to suffer the consequences of her actions Bellatrix…Tell her to get in and show me what she got,” the dark wizard was expectant for what was about to happen and soon, the woman with the dark hair quickly got out to tell the other woman to get in.
Soon, Bellatrix came back and she wasn’t alone, behind her there was a woman with blonde hair and she looked concerned and holding her hand was a young man with dark hair and emerald eyes, he tried to look brave but the dark lord was able to see the way this young man truly felt, he was scared.
“My lord…” Bellatrix said as she bowed, the dark lord dismissed her and she joined the rest of the cloaked people in the room.
“Well, well…Look at you, my greatest enemy, my rival, the only one who survived the killing curse…Look at how you ended up…Harry Potter,” the man couldn’t help but laugh as he saw the current state of his enemy.
He was here, the young wizard who ever since he was born has been a nuisance to him, the greatest dark lord in the history of magic, he has been a nuisance for him and his movement, he seemed to be the only force that could oppose to him, or at least that’s what everyone thought. Harry Potter, the supposed hero of the wizarding world was standing in front of his enemy, and not only that, he was also bowing at him.
Voldemort couldn’t help but find the situation more amusing even if he tried to, he was rejoicing at all the people who believed in Potter and even gave their lives for him…His parents, Sirius Black, Dumbledore and so many others, the dark lord must admit that he finds this situation hilarious…But, how did this happen?
Well for that we need to look at the blonde woman who was hugging Harry’s arm and an event that took place a week ago…
“My lord…Please, don’t kill them!” Narcissa said begging on her knees.
Lord Voldemort didn’t have the patience to deal with the Malfoys anymore, Dumbledore had died more than six months ago and he had already taken control of the ministry, Voldemort only used the Malfoys because of their political power but now he had no use for them.
This family has been nothing but a disappointment to him, and he wants to send a message to the rest of his followers, he can’t help but admit that he has been a little merciful with them lately, they’ve become too comfortable, he needs to shake things up to remind them who they’re dealing with.
“Please, Bellatrix, do something…I know you don’t like Lucius too much but you love your nephew Draco, right? And you wouldn’t kill his father, right?” Narcissa said desperately as she tried to gain some sympathy from her older sister.
“Cissy…Our lord has already made a decision and we are mere ants in his plans, we’re disposable to him, and he can use us to make his plans come true…He has already decided Lucius and Draco’s fate, and his decision needs to be respected…Oh, I’m so jealous of them for getting so much attention from our lord!” Bellatrix couldn’t help but moan as she said the last words.
Narcissa couldn’t believe it, she knew her sister was insane even before she joined the death eaters and she was expecting her to become more insane after spending time in Azkaban, but she was going too far, she was putting Voldemort even above her own family.
“Narcissa, I just want you to know that this isn’t personal…I have nothing against you but as you can see your husband and son have been nothing but disappointments, they’ve tainted the name of our organization and I need to make an example out of them,” the dark lord said in a calm yet scary tone.
As for Lucius and Draco, they suddenly started to sob, they were aware that they’ve been nothing but a disappointment to the movement they supposedly supported, the battle at the Department of Mysteries when Lucius lost the prophecy, Draco’s hesitation to kill Dumbledore and recently, an attack went wrong because of Lucius and Draco’s cowardice and all those things are nothing but just a little drop in the ocean of their failures.
“Avada—” Voldemort was about to kill them but then he was interrupted.
“I’ll bring you, Harry Potter,” Narcissa’s words stopped the dark lord who was about to kill Lucius and Draco.
“What did you just say?” Asked the dark lord not believing what he just heard.
“Harry Potter…I can bring him to you my lord just…Please, spare my family and we promise you to never see you again, we’ll disappear and support the movement in the shadows,” the blonde was on the verge of desperation,
“And how exactly do you plan to bring that elusive boy to me?” Asked the dark wizard with not so much amusement at her words.
If he couldn’t find a way to get him, he was finding it hard to believe that someone like Narcissa would do something like that. However, now he realized something, he had been too merciful with the Malfoys, so, he wanted to punish them a little more before finally putting them to rest, he wanted to give them some hope before they realized that they weren't going to make it alive out of here, not even Narcissa was going to get spared.
“I-I’ve been having an affair with him, we meet at Dumbledore’s funeral…” She confessed with a sad expression as she saw the way her son was looking at her, she didn’t care about Lucius, he was the one who got them into this and he was not so innocent when it came to cheating but disappointing her son was something worse than death to her. “I didn’t do it because of love, I did it because I wanted to bring you a gift, my lord…I knew that at some point these two were going to screw things up so bad that they were going to get into this situation, that’s why I offer you this gift my lord in exchange for sparing their lives,” the older woman said with a pleading tone.
“Narcissa…When was the last time you saw him?” Asked the dark lord completely furious, if she had a way to capture Potter and she hadn't told the organization, she was going to get considered a traitor, well, she was already added to the execution list anyway.
“Four months ago my lord, he sent me some letters but there was no way for me to trace from where they were being sent, in fact, it looked like he was moving around the world until I stopped receiving them three months ago…Or at least that’s what I thought,” Narcissa suddenly showed a letter. “I got this yesterday…He wants to meet up with me, I’m sure I can lure him here, the young man thinks I’m in love with him,” Narcissa said with a confident tone.
Voldemort couldn’t help but wonder if she was telling the truth, however, just like she said, it was difficult to trace where that letter had come from, it seemed like Potter was being paranoid, so, the idea of surprising him before killing him sounded delightful.
“Very well Narcissa…You have one week, if you don’t bring me Potter, not only I’m going to kill these two pieces of trash but I’m going to kill you first to torture them before they go,” Lord Voldemort wasn’t playing around.
“Potter…What a delightful visit, what brings you here to my humble lair?” Voldemort asked as he tried to mock the young man and the rest of the wizards and witches in the room laughed with him, even Bellatrix was about to choke on some wine she had just drank.
“Narcissa told me everything…I can’t let you hurt the woman I love, that’s why…” Harry said trying to look as brave as possible.
Everyone was expecting him to attack the dark lord for some reason, but him being on his knees was the last thing they expected him to do.
“To keep her safe…I’m willing to do anything, I’m even willing to join your side,” Harry said with a confident tone.
Soon, people started to whisper and gossip after those declarations, everyone was confused, even the dark lord was in that state, he knew Harry was bluffing but those were the last words he expected to hear from him.
However, he couldn’t help but think how sweet the irony would be, this would surely taint more and more Dumbledore’s legacy and what people think about him, Voldemort tried his best to contain his laughter but soon, he started to laugh like crazy, he was for surely going to play with the young man before finally getting rid of him.
Soon his followers started to laugh too, everyone was having a good time, but they were so focused on laughing at Potter that they didn't notice the small smirk on the young man's face.
