“Harry…This is…” Fleur said in a low tone.
“Yes…Lily Potter…My mother, she was investigating Horcruxes, something that is punished by law regardless of the reason why she was investigating them,” Harry said in a serious tone.
That was something punishable by law in all magical countries, so, both Fleur and Nymphadora were aware of the gravity of the situation, still, they couldn’t help but be amazed by such a revelation.
“I feel bad, I stumbled upon this by accident, and after using magic to hide the fact that I discovered this, my magic got out of control and took over my body which caused the Horcrux to battle against me to try to fully control my body and then, well…You know the rest,” Harry said before sighing.
The fact that he made the bookshelf fall on the ground truly reminded him of what happens when you throw a piece of domino that’s connected to a lot of pieces, it’s what they call the domino effect, it’s so amazing and scary how such a random and little action can cause lots of damage.
“I hope my mother forgives me, but once I get her soul back I’ll tell her everything I know and I’ll tell her about this,” Harry said with a serious tone as he looked at the notebook.
“She truly did her homework but how did she get time for that? She’s been working non-stop on Hogwarts since she graduated!” Tonks couldn’t help but admire the older woman more than she already admired her.
“Some people are just built differently, and I can’t blame her if she sacrificed sleep hours to do this, I mean, if you take a look at the notebook, you’ll realize that it’s full of interesting information, it’s hard to not feel engaged with it,” Harry told the two women and suddenly their attention was completely focused on the notebook.
“Ancient texts…Origins…Mythology…Theories…Wow, she truly worked hard on this,” the blonde couldn’t help but say as she looked at the index in the notebook.
“It makes me sad to say this but we need to take advantage of the fact that she’s not here to get as much information as possible about this, the last time I checked inside the notebook, I didn’t have too much time to do it, and the information I got was a bit unclear,” Harry explained as he caressed his chin.
“What’s the thing you found Harry?” Asked Nymphadora with a curious look.
Nymphadora knew that the redhead protected this place more than her own life, so, she was surprised Harry managed to discover this and even though this action triggered the next events that took place in the span of a few days, she couldn’t help but admire him, after all, he found this without the use of magic, his luck was insane.
“How to destroy a Horcrux…It’s an unfinished paragraph and I didn’t have the chance to read too much of it when I was here after the party was over,” Harry explained and the two women tried to find the chapter he was talking about. “The key to destroying a Horcrux is—" Harry couldn’t finish.
“Love,” both Nymphadora and Fleur said at the same time with shocked expressions.
Soon, there was silence, it wasn’t uncomfortable but it was necessary because they were trying to collect their thoughts about this situation, of all the things they expected that could destroy a Horcrux, this was the last one they expected.
The secret arm against a Horcrux wasn't a muggle weapon, nor a curse, nor a spell, nor a ritual, nothing remotely close to that, no, the thing that could destroy a Horcrux according to Lily’s notes was…Love.
“We should read the whole paragraph before we jump to conclusions,” Fleur suggested and Harry and Nymphadora agreed with her.
The metamorph decided to take the notebook and soon, she clarified her voice.
“How to destroy a Horcrux? Love, that’s what you need to destroy it.
While it’s true that Henry Charlus Potter and his mentor Albus Dumbledore have been traveling around the world, destroying Horcruxes with special items like the Gryffindor sword, or basilisk fangs, there’s a case that needs to be addressed in case someone needs it in the future.
There’s a situation that no one has been able to decipher and that is...How to destroy a Horcrux that’s inside another human being? That’s a question I’ve been trying to solve because I’m starting to suspect that my son Harry James Potter is the vessel of unwanted Horcrux.
Before you call me crazy, I need to clarify that he’s not the first one in history, you see, there was a man who once died but he came back to life for a few moments just to finally die and not wake up again…He was the son of a very dangerous wizard who had been killed in front of him when he was a baby.
I think what happened there was that instead of him dying the first time, what died was a Horcrux that was accidentally created by the person who killed his father, as apparently, he was a very hated wizard, the Horcrux and he died due to natural causes as the man was over one hundred fifty years old, so, that’s why there's not a huge gap of time between his two deaths. (Taken from the book, Mysterious Deaths by Agatha Krystal, 1553), but unless you wait for the day you die then, you’re going to have to need to get used to having a Horcrux inside you, unless you figure out how to use love to destroy this thing that was born from hatred.
Harry if you're reading this I want you to forgive me for thinking such things, today is your 18th birthday and this is the conclusion that I’ve come to due to the investigations and all the information I’ve been compiling related to horcruxes, if you're reading this it means that I'm gone and I know how much you hate books, so, don't worry, I got all the information you'll need to solve this in case you truly have an horcrux inside you, this notebook is full of theories, so, I don’t think this is a conclusion but more like a bunch of ideas that could get me in prison.
There are some Horcrux cases registered throughout history, however, there’s very little information regarding the methods that were used to destroy them, Henry and Dumbledore just did a trial and error test, it seems like the ministry really took this seriously a thousand years ago when they decided to ban all the information about this kind of magic.
So…Why do I think love of the key to destroying a Horcrux? Well, just like there’s black and white, night and day, life and death, everything has to have a counterpart, right?
The people who have created the Horcrux, have been depicted throughout history as dangerous people, psychopaths that feel no remorse, dark wizards, people who want to conquer the world but in the end, they fear that their legacy will die when they leave this world.
By killing people you will either regret that for the rest of your life or you will enjoy it, that’s why not everyone who kills another person can create a Horcrux, that would be a mess.
It requires certain emotions for that to happen and sometimes everything is accidental, for example, there’s an unnamed dark wizard who fought Merlin and who wanted to destroy him, but Merlin was too strong, and his hate was the reason why he killed his wife and turned his son into a vessel for a Horcrux in case he died, that's how much that wizard hated Merlin (Merlin's secrets, Vol III. 1332 by Arthur Stonehenge)
Hate is the key piece to creating a Horcrux, that’s why you truly need to hate someone to create a Horcrux, at that point your soul must have gotten so corrupt that it doesn't act as it should, you could say that by killing your own soul and sacrificing your humanity, you can have a long but painful life.
So…What’s the opposite thing of hate? Well, it’s love, and even if it sounds ridiculous, love has been considered a different type of magic since humans have become reasonable creatures, in fact, certain races worship love like veelas.
Love is an unexplainable power and there are lots of types, the love you feel for a loved one, the love you feel for your partner, for your friends, for your children for your parents and family, it’s so different but if you truly love someone, there’s no doubt that you’d anything to protect them and—”
“Well, it seems like she stopped here,” Nymphadora said with a calm tone.
Both Fleur and Harry were shocked to hear all that information, and it was a complete surprise to know that his mother already knew what was going on, there was no doubt she was a genius for figuring all that out by herself.
