Nymphadora, a purple-haired witch wearing brown boots, black jeans, and a blue shirt was running as fast as she could in the ministry, she had done something awful, something that could get her Auror's license completely suspended… She was late for her shift and it seemed like the world was conspiring for her to not reach the Auror department.
“Ah, why has everyone decided to come to the ministry at the same time as me? People should be more considerate!” Nymphadora complained in her head as she tried to move as fast as she could but the place was too packed with people for her to move faster and it was impossible to apparate because that was forbidden inside the ministry.
She had zero idea of how long it took her but luckily she was able to reach the office, she tried to enter and be as silent as possible to not be noticed by her boss, she knew she was late and in trouble, this was going to be a nightmare of a shift for her, but she was hoping that if her boss catches her working like a maniac on paperwork, she might reconsider not putting her on probation.
Nymphadora was about to reach her office until…
“Auror Tonks!” A stern voice behind her said.
The purple-haired witch didn’t want to look back, she knew her boss was too angry and she didn’t want to face her wrath, at least she wanted to say her last words before she got destroyed by the redhead.
“Nymphadora… Look at me!” The older woman said and even if she was angry because she used the name she hated so much, Nymphadora wasn’t in the right position to complain about that.
Little by little and with a lot of nervousness, Nymphadora managed to look back to her boss, she was expecting to get yelled cursed, and blamed for all the bad things that were happening in the world right now.
“Uhm… Sorry boss but I need to take care of some paperwork from the last mission and—” Nymphadora couldn’t finish as the redhead raised her hand to dismiss whatever thing she was trying to tell her.
“Forget about that… I need you in my office… Now!” Amelia said without considering Nymphadora’s feelings, and the purple-haired witch remained in the same position for a while.
Meanwhile, her colleagues could only look at her with pity, but at the same time, they were happy Nymphadora was the victim their boss chose for the day, even her best friend Hestia looked at her with a sad expression.
“Go ahead Dora… If you make her wait too much things are just going to get worse for you, trust me, the last time I took too long she gave me a speech telling me that people like me were the ones that are making this world worse… She doesn’t even treat criminals like that Dora!” Hestia suddenly let out some tears before she hugged the purple-haired witch.
Nymphadora remained stunned after hearing her friend’s tale, she couldn’t stop herself from gulping, her friend was crying dramatically and Tonks just decided to let her be, she didn’t know where she got the guts, but she was ready to face her destiny.
“Come on Nymphadora… You survived the war, this can’t be worse!” The purple-haired witch said as she approached her boss’ office.
The busty woman placed her hand on the doorknob and her colleagues stared at her with pity, she was hesitating but she knew she couldn’t run from this forever.
“Goodbye guys, honor my memory and remember me as the sweet, beautiful, and loving person I’ve always been,” Tonks said dramatically.
“What? You’ve never been like that? You’re more like an emotionally unstable drunkard!” A guy who was close to Nymphadora tried to joke around, but everyone looked at him angrily. “Sorry, not the right timing, right fellas?” The man said completely ashamed before he got back to his duties.
Tonks just sighed, she was ready, she lived a long life, and she lost the love of her life during the war, but she was ready to see him again.
“Remus I hope you’re ready to feel my wrath for not surviving the war you coward!” Tonks thought bitterly before she opened the door.
Tonks wasn't surprised about what she found inside the office, her boss was sitting behind her desk with a very serious and stern expression, she closed the door and the purple-haired witch got ready to get destroyed either by the older woman's words or by her magic.
“Tonks… Sit down,” the older redhead said and the purple-haired witch obeyed as fast as she could, if she was going to get killed at least she wanted to die while sitting comfortably and the chairs in her boss’ office were great for her back.
Nymphadora was taking too long to accommodate her body on her chair, she was trying to waste time to distract her boss from what was about to happen.
“Oh wow boss… Did you lose weight? You look stunning today!” Nymphadora said in the most hypocritical way possible and Amelia didn’t look amused.
“Do you know why you’re here Miss Tonks?” Asked Amelia with a serious expression that made Nymphadora feel a little scared.
“I-I know,” Tonks said with honesty, maybe if she was sincere her punishment wouldn’t be that bad.
“Really? Care to elaborate?” Asked the redhead with a raised brow.
“I’m here because I’m late and now you’re going to punish me because you hate lateness!” Nymphadora said trying to not sound too scared.
But suddenly Amelia’s stern expression changed for a more confused one, the redhead suddenly looked at the clock she had in her office and she realized something.
“Wait, you’re right… You’re late but only by less than five minutes, that’s not too much, just don’t let that become a usual thing,” the redhead was suggesting rather than ordering the younger witch and she was doing it in a calm tone.
Nymphadora was stunned, she was having a hard time believing what she had just heard.
“Wait… Isn’t that the reason for me to be here?” Asked the purple-haired witch feeling as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
“No, I called you for another matter… Something even more important than the safety of the world!” Amelia said with a serious expression. “Do you remember my niece Susan?” Asked the redhead and Nymphadora caressed her chin as she remembered.
“Yeah, how could I forget our cute Susy? I still remember those times when she used to visit your office during the summers!” Nymphadora said with a smirk on his face.
“Well, that cute Susy is gone, she has grown up… She became a woman in the blink of an eye and to say that she’s stunning would be an understatement,” suddenly the older woman passed Nymphadora a moving picture of her niece.
The purple-haired witch was taken aback by the image of the younger redhead, her face was round and cute but she had a bombshell body that Nymphadora wouldn’t mind playing with if she didn't know she was her boss' niece, and even if she was wearing only a tight white shirt, tight blue jeans and even she was not wearing shoes, she still managed to look so cute and hot at the same time with her pale skin, small waist, a very nice sized chest, her boss' niece was waving one hand in the picture.
“Wow you were right she's so beautiful, I’m not surprised though, she’s your niece after all,” Nymphadora said sincerely but she was also trying to flatter her boss.
“Yes… And it worries me,” the older woman said with a serious expression.
“Why? Wasn't she one of the top ten students of her generation? Isn’t she learning transfiguration under the wing of Professor McGonagall?” Nymphadora was confused.
“Yes, she’s all that and more, she's an excellent witch… But her career it’s not what worries me, it’s her attitude, she’s been acting so weird lately and she doesn’t want to tell me what’s going on, she’s just pretending everything’s the same but I know she’s hiding something from me,” Amelia said in a sad tone.
“So… Do you want me to ask her in your name?” Asked the younger witch, she was more than happy to do that, it was easy.
“Oh no, that would be weird… I want you to follow her to find out what’s she hiding,” Amelia told Nymphadora.
In the younger witch’s head, it was easier and less weird to just talk to the redhead, after all, there's not so much difference in their ages, Nymphadora is just seven years older than her, but she wanted to be in good terms with her boss, so, Nymphadora just nodded at her.
“Okay, if that’s what you need then, I’ll do it… When do I start?” Asked the younger woman and Amelia took a look at the clock.
“I’d love for you to start now, I know she will stay at home until eight-thirty before she goes out for a few hours to have some fun in Diagon Alley until the evening when she needs to be at Hogwarts to assist Professor McGonagall,” the redhead said and Nymphadora nodded completely paying attention to her boss' words.
“Okay, I guess I should get going then, better not waste time,” Nymphadora got on her feet, she wanted to get out of her boss’ office as fast as she could, this place scared her a little.
“Nymphadora… You don’t know how grateful I am for this, I’ll owe you a favor and please, don’t hesitate to send me a patronus telling me in full detail if you find something weird, okay?” The redhead placed her hands on the purple-haired witch's shoulders and Nymphadora nodded nervously, the woman truly cared about her niece.
The purple-haired witch got outside of her boss’ office and it didn’t take too long for her colleagues to circle her to congratulate her for surviving, Nymphadora just rolled her eyes before she made them back off, she needed to get to work now, so, it didn’t take too long for her to teleport outside the manor of the Bones family.
Nymphadora was motivated, it had been so long since she had done a surveillance mission, so, using her transformation powers, she changed the color of her hair and the form of her face and surprisingly, it didn’t take too long for a young red-haired woman to come outside the manor.
She looked so pretty with her long-sleeved tight white blouse, her long but tight black skirt, and high black stilettos, Nymphadora didn’t waste her time and followed her, luckily the Bones manor was located close to Diagon Alley so, it was for sure that the redhead wasn’t going to apparate away but in case that happened, Nymphadora was more than ready to use her transformation powers to become so small so she could travel with her without being noticed.
Susan was greeting so many people on the streets, from younger to older people, and Nymphadora recognized some of those people, they usually talked with her boss in the ministry, but soon, Nymphadora was surprised the moment Susan moved to a place where no proper lady should be standing in, she was in front of a store in a street where prostitutes usually offer their services during the night and she stood there for a few minutes.
“Oh no… Don’t tell me that Susan is doing sex work!” Nymphadora mumbled but then, the closed store located behind where the redhead was standing opened, and the young woman didn’t hesitate to enter the store.
Nymphadora sighed relieved, it was a store where they sell some powerful but disgusting materials for potions, and after ten minutes Susan came outside the store and before following her, Nymphadora decided to change her appearance, she looked like an old lady now as she followed the redhead who stopped where the expensive hotels were located, Nymphadora was surprised the moment an old man in a suit approached Susan.
“Oh no, don’t tell me she’s a sugar baby, Amelia’s going to kill her!” Nymphadora moved close to them to hear what they were talking about and to say the metamorph was nervous would be an understatement.
“Thank you so much young lady, this is my first time in this country,” the old man said with a thick German accent and Nymphadora’s eyes widened.
“Don’t worry about it Sir, I hope you enjoy the goblin museum!” The redhead said shutting down Nymphadora’s theory, the old man parted ways with Susan and the metamorph realized that the redhead was just helping the old man to find a certain place.
Nymphadora was too stunned that she almost lost sight of Susan moving again, the metamorph changed her form now she was a tall blonde, Susan was guiding her to a park and it didn’t take too long for Susan to stop in front of a lake to sit under a tree, she looked so peaceful.
“I’m such an idiot why did I think someone so cute and innocent would those awful things and—” Nymphadora hated herself until she saw someone approaching Susan.
It was a young man around Susan’s age, he was wearing white running shoes, blue jeans, and a black shirt, and he was also carrying a basket.
“Wait a minute, I know him… Isn’t that my friend Harry? The real Harry Potter!?” Nymphadora was surprised, she wasn’t expecting the hero of the wizarding world to be friends with her boss’ niece but she was relieved the moment Susan got on her feet to hug him, there was nothing for her to report to her boss.
Or at least that’s what she thought until the moment Susan hugged Harry’s neck before she kissed him, and it seemed like this wasn’t a rare occurrence because Harry was kissing her back and he even placed his hands on Susan’s body, to say Nymphadora was shocked would be the understatement of the century.
