Hermione tried to accompany Gabrielle and Harry to pick up the cake for Victoire’s party, but she was stopped by Fleur and she had no other choice but to stay as she watched the younger veela mock her before disappearing alongside her best friend.
Now, don’t misunderstand her, she indeed used to have a feud with Fleur, but that was in the past, they got along now, Hermione realized that some things are not worth fighting for, and after the war, she decided to finish the conflicts she had with other people and along those people was Fleur, and now they were good friends.
And the proof of that friendship was that Hermione decided to help her with her daughter’s party, after all, Hermione knows how stressful these kinds of events are, and help is always welcome.
The party was supposed to occur without any problem, however, today something unexpected happened, someone arrived and Hermione had no previous knowledge about that person coming to the party, the mysterious person was Gabrielle Delacour someone who happened to be Fleur’s younger sister.
Her opinion about the younger veela was not favorable, she knew she shouldn’t judge someone like Gabby considering the blonde is years younger than her, but she can’t stop herself from doing it.
Back in the day, she was indifferent towards the young veela, the French witch seemed to act like a normal girl of her age, and even if Hermione tried to fool herself by thinking that she didn't act like Gabrielle while growing up she would be kidding fooling herself by thinking like that.
However, Gabrielle was now an adult, someone who should be responsible, she had just graduated from Beauxbatons and it seemed like she did it with honors, and yet, she didn’t seem to be a person interested in her studies.
She left France, a place where thanks to her family connections she would’ve been able to get a job at the ministry, and we’re talking about a very good paid job that would've secured her and her descendants' future if she decided to have them.
But the veela escaped from that place to come to England to become a model here which is something kind of weird because Hermione has never paid too much attention to fashion and magazines of this country as she's always too busy, and yet, for some reason, the younger blonde came to this place to do a job that had zero relation with the knowledge she got in the magical school she assisted, and that made Hermione feel a little angry and bitter.
She’s not bitter because she feels threatened by Gabby’s intelligence, Hermione is quite confident about her intelligence, but the thing that makes her feel angry is the fact that the veela seems to live in a world of her own, she seems oblivious to the problems and the things a lot of people go through, things that she was sure someone like Gabrielle never faced in her life.
Hermione has managed to accomplish a lot of things after the war, she joined the 'Department of Muggle Studies', the brown-haired witch has written three books about the real behavior of muggles, and she has also managed to win some awards for her contributions, and thanks to her work, magical people seem to have fewer prejudices towards muggle-born wizard and witches, there are still exceptions though, the extremists seem to be just a minority today.
Everything Hermione has managed to achieve in the magical world and even in the muggle world is the fruit of her hard work, her efforts have paid quite well, and there’s a reason why she has been working hard and it has something to do with Harry.
You see, the first thing Hermione talked about with Gabrielle was about Harry, the veela asked Hermione about the dark-haired wizard's whereabouts, and after asking Gabrielle why she was so interested in Harry's life, the blonde shamelessly confessed to her that Harry was another reason for her to come to England, she wanted to seduce him and even promised Hermione that she was going to become his wife.
After hearing that confession with such arrogance, Hermione couldn’t stop herself from getting furious, the veela has had everything in life handled to her thanks to her parents' influence, and now, she wanted to take away the person Hermione was in love with.
Yes, the suspicions are confirmed, what many people have speculated was real, Hermione had a crush on her best friend, the hero of the wizarding world, and all of her hard work was for her to feel confident and worthy of being with him, and she was planning to confess her feelings to her best friend tonight in the afterparty.
But Gabrielle was threatening to ruin everything, because ever since he arrived, he hadn’t stopped himself from looking at her, ogling her, and smiling when she talked to him, he seemed lost in his world every time he spoke with Fleur’s sister.
And now, the two of them were gone, they were alone and even if Hermione tried to get the address of the place where they went to pick up the cake, the veela tried to pretend she didn't hear her, and Hermione was getting more and more desperate as she was already feeling like she was losing the man she was in love with, but then something happened, some people appeared in the party and they were carrying a cake.
Hermione watched with a shocked expression how a very embarrassed Fleur received the cake as she tried to pretend she didn’t send Harry and Gabrielle to pick up the pastry. It was difficult because the older blonde was trying to avoid her, but Hermione managed to get some time alone with the veela.
“Fleur… Weren’t Harry and your sister supposed to bring the cake? Where did you send them?” Asked Hermione getting more and more desperate as time passed by.
The blonde wasn’t going to say anything, but then she looked at the cloak and she seemed to look a little more relieved.
“Well I guess by this time she’s already over with her confession,” Fleur sighed. “I gave Gabrielle Harry’s address, so, they’re probably there,” Fleur confessed with a calm expression, it seemed like she had nothing to lose right now.
“What? Why would you do that?” Hermione’s tone surprised the blonde.
“Hermione, I know that you and Harry are close but there are some things only he can deal with… I know it’s too early for them to date, but they're both single, I saw the way he looks at her... So, if they like each other then what’s the deal? They’re not doing something illegal,” Fleur tried to calm Hermione but the younger witch wasn’t satisfied.
“I need to see him,” Hermione said and Fleur tried to stop her. “I need to hear from his mouth that he likes Gabrielle, I’m sorry, but I find it hard to believe that he could accept her in such a short period of time,” Hermione suddenly disappeared and she was going to get stopped by Fleur but she obviously failed at it, Fleur just sighed.
Once she arrived at Harry’s home, she was surprised to see that no one was there, she was suddenly starting to feel confused, she was even thinking that Fleur lied to her, but she quickly shook her head to forget about those thoughts because she suddenly heard a thump on the door and she didn’t even dare to knock, she took out her wand to violently open the door.
She was shocked to find Harry and Gabrielle kissing each other before they stopped and looked at her with a shocked expression.
“You! I knew you were planning something!” Hermione ran as fast as she could until she reached Harry. “Oh no, don’t tell me she used her allure on you and now she's controlling your mind!” Hermione said before she hugged her best friend.
Hermione’s knowledge of veelas is quite vague as there aren’t many veela today, some say that there’s a land in the middle of the sea where they live, so, a lot of the knowledge that is known about veelas comes from the very few that have decided to become a subject of study.
In the history of Britain, only one veela has been studied and she had some mental problems, so, a lot of Hermione’s knowledge about veelas comes from those ancient books, she also gets a few glimpses of information from Fleur but those could get misinterpreted without the necessary context.
Hermione has never dared to ask Fleur about her race as it can be quite a sensible topic and she prefers to not put any of her friends in those kinds of situations.
Hermione soon looked at Gabrielle’s offended expression but the brown-hared witch didn’t care if what she said was accurate or not, she was worried about her friend and she couldn’t stop herself from making him bury his head between her nice-sized boobs, Harry knew he should stop her but he didn’t have the motivation to do that.
“Hey, that’s cruel, my allure doesn’t work that way and it only works on weak wizards and witches… Harry belongs to neither group of people!” Gabrielle was clearly annoyed.
The blonde had a good reason to feel like that, she was interrupted and also, and she was being accused of doing something so awful, using her allure like Hermione was implying would’ve cost her a one-way ticket to a magical French jail.

I’m actually the opposite. I don’t like Harry in this. Hermione is jealous and is seeing someone slip away. Her reaction is understandable. But Harry here is acting like a weak willed child. He’s like “boobies! Must look!” Very little self control for someone who’s immune to the allure, and has stayed single because he knows his fame and money are big targets. He has no control of his body, and then when an argument starts breaking out over him in his own house, Hermione stuffs his head in her boobs and he’s to weak to do anything about it and just watches 2 people fight. I like the plot, and love seeing a competitive Hermione fight for the guy she loves. I like how Gabby has a plan and is executing it well. I hate how Harry is acting like a 10 year old boy seeing boobs for the first time in person. He seems like he has no spine. Gabby admits Hermione is trying to intervene, and Harry, who then sees his best friend break down his door and is angry, is just controlled from both sides. He just has “no motivation” to stop being used as a toy. Jeez Harry, grow a pair. You need information from both sides, and you should be old enough to control yourself and not just say with your head buried in some boobs. Like seriously.
