If you have a problem with the date authentication, use the console to set the in-game date manually. Press ~ (shift + ` ) to open up the console, then type "setdate 12 25" (no quotes) and hit Enter. (You can use this cheat to activate seasonal content year-round, so don't worry if you don't have time to unlock it all by the end of the year!)

My game crashes every battle sequence. It hasn't worked since 11.2.
