When a local poacher discover fragments of an unknown crystal with magical properties near the foot of the Dragon's reach mountains, the rumour of a hidden treasure spread quickly to the nearby towns and villages. Soon, a mining compagy from a faraway land claimed a vast portion of the forested cliff-side. Operations began in a haste. The delirium for quick money superseded the regards for one's safety. Every day, more and more ill prepared miners converged towards the now gaping cavern dug up in the mountain's flank to reap the coveted riches from the earth's entrails. Overcrowding, overworking, lack of decent food and healthy water. A plague hit the miners. The company sent doctors under a strict mandate of privacy. What they found there... was beyond their studies.
