Depending on how optimized your party is and on how strong you make the creatures in the paintings and the one in the faded room, I'd say 4th or 5th level ! The beast in area 2 and the creatures in the portraits of area 1 all have custom statblocks but I want to rework them for you guys, to make them crystal clean, before I publish. My six players group ran it at 5th level without any major problem ; but they dodged the fight in the Faded Room (#2) because they used illusions to appear as black & white versions of themselves. I found the idea interesting and the creature did not become hostile. However the painting monsters were quite strong in the original version, dealing 15 cold damage in an aoe each turn. If you use weaker enemies, 4th level should be good. I hope this helps !

So I am about to do a one shot with some friends on this one. What do you think would be a good lvl recommendation for a party of 4-5 people?
