August~
🕑 Added 2024-08-15 13:00:16 +0000 UTCWe made a new friend:
And I finally got out for a nice little paddle:
Things have been getting better around here~ I'm finally making myself get out of the house more, going out every weekend to play DnD, getting out to the lake again.... All the things I've been putting off for months and months while I deteriorate indoors..... :/ BUT! Decay is a part of the cycle of life; it breaks down the old tired ideals and systems, and turns them into nutrients to help feed the new growth of the next season, the next version of ourselves that we need to be~ I may have lost the metaphor a bit there, but still :)
I used to feel so guilty about these periods of dormancy. Dormancy in creativity, in routine, in socializing, in all aspects of life. I'm realizing now that everything in nature has periods of dormancy and rest. Trees will shed leaves in the fall, slow down their growth for the winter, and allow themselves to rest properly before pushing forward, exploding into bloom the next spring. Lakes freeze over, and the creatures below let themselves slow to a crawl, conserving their energy until they can break through the thaw, freeing themselves into the warmth of the sun when it returns again. Maybe we need these periods of rest too? Maybe the human cycle of action and dormancy has been misunderstood? Maybe these times of rest are just as important for us as our times of action?
But I am certainly rambling now~ Which I think means that the rest time is over~ For now anyways. I feel a very exciting spring bloom starting to bud, and for once, that's not a weird euphemism~ ;)
Oh, also I had to watch my parent's shitty pug.
And don't let the cute face fool you; this little monster bit me every time I tried to pet him :/ This is exactly why my sister moved, and my brother pretends he can't have dogs in his apartment >:(
Look at him sitting there, plotting some kind of shenanigans. Little demon pug :/ He's very sweet when he snuggles up and sleeps next to you on the couch though. That only lasts about 5min at a time, but still.
I'm gonna upload a few videos alongside this post, so keep an eye out. One of them features the little monster above~
For now though, I've got some bad decisions to make involving self tanner and too many bong rips~ I hope you're having a lovely August, a lovely end to the season, and an exciting look to the last (but lets be real, totally the best) half of the year~
Btw; I've got a lot of exciting things planned for the rest of Aug, and I can't wait to share it with all of you~
Love,
Luna~
