[Video] Speedmeshing of a CC bed !
🕑 Added 2021-04-22 21:19:56 +0000 UTCI wanted to start live streaming so people could watch my creation process and maybe offer some streamed tutorials, but, helas, my internet connection from the very remoted area I live in is WAY too low. (I need 6000 kbps to stream in HD, 3000 kbps to stream in 720p and I have... 60. π€ ) (Yes, I donβt even have phone signal) (Yes, I live in the forest) (No, I donβt eat grass).
The good news is that theyβve finished to install the cables for the optic fiber in my street ! π€© It is now a question of monthes until I can get the sharp-Netflix and the not-all-night-long update downloading !
So in the meantime, I recorded one of my last item: an animated bedding Ikea bed that will be available in my next set. You can watch without explanations the full process of the meshing from zero in blender, to the creation of bedding in marvelous designer, then the texturing in substance painter and the weight transfer in blender.
The real duration of the creation of this item is around 3 hours. I cut some parts were I was struggling too much (like the pillow in marvelous designer, and the weight transfer where it took me approximatively 8 tries before it was successful π)
- From 0:00βββ to 5:20βββ, you have the meshing and unwrapping in Blender 2.76 of the frame and mattress.
- Starting 3:18βββ, I'm using Marvelous designer to create the pillows and bedding. I struggled A LOT with the pillow.
- At 6:38β, I come back to Blender to import my bedding. I use EA's original mesh to transfer weight in order to have a working animation.
- At 10:54β, I'm using Substance Designer to create my textures.
- At 13:22β, I'm using Blender 2.79 to bake the textures. I cut the making/baking of different swatches because it was very repetitive.
- At 14:20β, I edit the specular and normal maps in Photoshop.
- At 14:43ββ, I'm setting the object in S4S, importing the mesh and textures, editing the tags and specular/normal maps.
- At 15:14βββ, you can see the result ingame with the working animation :)
Hope youβll like it !
