I am aware of the issues the game has with communication and pacing I also believe that there may be a save issue on the macOS or iOS phone. It would seem the the elements behind the battle image a nulled out, try playing on storymode, I should have an update solving this issue by Friday

Playing on Windows, whenever I attack in combat the game shows a battle still, but I can't click through it and so I can't progress. Any advice?

That was pretty good! I played on android, and it unfortunately crashed during the edna boss fight and didn't save my progress. The combat is super fun, but i felt the girl character wasn't that useful if your party had been fully healed in the beginning already. I understand she's meant to use her big magic ability later, but i really only used it 3 times in the run since the boy thrashed the opponents quickly by himself. Definitely looking forward to more detailed stills if you're going to add them later. Overall, SUPER fun for a beta game and as a game in general. ^^
