I used the updater, and this game and the others of yours only show up. I can’t access the games at all like I would any others.

atrac17

Great, we can troubleshoot in the core-issues channel.

Bart394

Yes I am on discord. I believe I already joined your channel. I will meet you there

atrac17

I changed the layout of button placement for the pocket layout. Do you happen to be on discord? I'd like to try and troubleshoot this live and narrow it down.

Bart394

Using 0.0.2 (before this one) The down button caused the glitch. I was testing the issue when you patched to 0.0.3 . So the button Changed from up to Down to cause the blank screen

Bart394

Ver 0.0.3 Build date 2024-09-22

atrac17

Have you updated to the newest release (RC2)? I don't own an 8-bitdo arcade stick to test. Please let me know if this is v0.0.3.

Bart394

When playing with an 8bit Do Arcade stick on the dock the screen blanks after several rounds and plays blind. The up button seems to be what triggers the issue. However, before the patch pressing the down button caused the issue. Game continues to play blind until the credit is used. Game than seems to reset and restarts attract mode. Video resumes and you can play again. Awesome job! Sorry to have to report this odd glitch.

atrac17

Ensure you have the SmashTV core selected. It downloads on my end.

Pat Jones

I don’t see Smash TV anywhere after using Pupdate and adding my email. It should be in the arcade folder yes?

Sujith

The Pocket Updater functionality is awesome! Works perfectly!

Pramod Somashekar

I use the term, as when we release something it should be FAIRLY close to a final build. I just tack on beta just to be clear it is pre-release. I do not like the term beta though, just to be clear. What I used to do is just call it RC1, RC2, etc. Now at days I am adding "beta" at the end to avoid confusing people. But, it is a pre-release version really. thanks.

Here's part of the panel from TooManyGames that talks about the challenges: https://youtu.be/NjESZamV4q0

atrac17

Give it a try now. The updater hadn't synced yet.

Duncan

Checking the pupdate updater on Mac, I'm getting the following: Checking Core: pram0d.smashtv 0.0.1 is the most recent release, checking local core... Downloading core... Downloading file https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Coin-OpCollection/Distribution-OpenFPGA/develop/Releases/pramod.yunit_20240921.zip... Uh oh something went wrong. Not Found.

Alex Limi

Yeah, sorry — that doesn’t make any sense, and you know I appreciate the team’s work on bringing these games to FPGA 😄 RC is the stage before the final release (aka. “did we f— it up?”), you don’t have release candidates for betas. They are just… beta releases. And make as many as you want/need!

atrac17

Release Candidate 1 for Beta?

Alex Limi

Nice job, excited to try this one! Can I be a stickler for terminology and point out that RC (release candidate) and beta are two different things, and that “RC1 Beta” as a name doesn’t make a lot of sense? 😄

Samson Wick

What was the limitation? Cells, speed, etc? (Or is there a write up somewhere I can go read about it?)

Geckofingers

Thanks guys, is Pacland still on your roadmap?

atrac17

Correct. Midway is not a viable candidate for the MiSTer. All Midway cores are pocket only. We have some stuff in the pipeline for MiSTer.

Samson Wick

Sorry for not paying attention up until this point, but am I understanding correctly that this is Pocket-only? There’s no beta for this on MiSTer?

atrac17

Sounds like a ROM issue, I'd try sourcing it again.

jose rosales

works great so far, thanks!

Todd Gill

I love this new updater process. Makes life a lot easier for us Mac users. Time to win that big money and those big prizes!

Fabricio

Download the core and game using pupdate but when I tried to load the game, all I got is a red screen

Pramod Somashekar

Thank you for taking the time to read the post.

80's spaceman

I managed to read it, thank you, clears a lot about JTframe and you separation from it. Good idea and best of luck :)

80's spaceman

Hello, you have written a novel this time. My phone battery will run out by the time I finish reading it and I will be 90 years old.

Espiox

Thank you! I love Smash TV, I’ve been waiting for this forever!

f3bandit

Thank you for the detailed instructions :) great work as always!

yomitron

Keep on rockin’ in the free world homies. God’s work is being done.

Louis Martinez

Fantastic write up and great work all around. Major kudos for doing things the right way and not bowing down to the outside factors.

Shannon Thomasson

Downloading now, thanks for you and your team bringing all these titles over!

David Moylan

Thanks for your continued awesome work. It’s very much appreciated. Cheers!
