House of Hellish Harlots v0.036 [Succuba]
🕑 Added 2022-09-30 22:31:39 +0000 UTCWhew. A slightly hectic day. An ebook release, a family visit and a planned end-of-month House of Hellish Harlots release. Maybe a little too much for the same day...
Thankfully, I was a little bit ahead this time and got most of the testing out of the way yesterday. If the Elegant Woman and Portly Gentleman segments hadn't been so stubbornly awkward to write I might have had it out by midnight, but as it is, it's not too far behind.
There is only one new harlot for this release, but she does offer a lot more sexual services than usual (10 in total), making her a more complex harlot scenario.
Succuba
It's good to finally get Succuba out. She was another poll winner from back when I asked which placeholder names people would like to see given a fully fleshed out scenario. Her placeholder description was essentially of a stereotypical succubus, but I thought I'd give her a little more. Most harlots only have a single sex scene. Succuba has options for 10.
However, this had to come at a slight cost and is referenced in the game lore. She has a reputation for getting men off a little too quickly, so all of her scenes are quite short. This is to keep her scenario down to a manageable size. Even then, at 9K words she's one of the longest harlot scenarios so far.
If you like the idea, but wish they were longer, don't worry as that's what I have planned for the mini-bosses. For example, my rough plan for Temptacia is to offer 5 different services, but have her take more time with them.
Succuba also has a game mechanics purpose that's slightly outside of the lore. The Portly Gentleman's payout scales with how many things the player does with Succuba, so her showing up gives a player an easy way to sacrifice semen to get a burst of cash. The balancing is still off on the money. That is something I will sort out later.
KNOWN BUGS
Also, there was something I did miss in the hectic rush and only noticed with the final testing. If Succuba picks the sex act, the starting line is as if the player chose it. I'm aware of it and will get that fixed in the next release.
Anyway. That's another 9,000 words added to the already monstrous HoHH project. I hope you have fun with Succuba. Let me know your thoughts below.
ETA: OTHER KNOWN BUG
The player isn't supposed to survive if they bring a black rose. This should trigger if the player tries to leave. However, there's a bonus passage if the player 'does everything' with succuba and I missed adding the Black Rose check there. I'll add that to the list of fixes for v0.037.
