Ideas File - The Interdimensional Arachne Brothel
🕑 Added 2020-11-05 13:54:34 +0000 UTCI was catching up on reading the "Interspecies Reviewers" manga recently. If you're not aware of it, it's a comedy series where a group of fantasy adventurers go around reviewing monster girl brothels rather than the usual fantasy-world adventuring stuff.
In one chapter it was the turn of the arachnes and I liked how their brothel was presented. The punters give the girls the cash and it's hidden away in a back room and they have to sneak through the webs to retrieve it. Of course, the point is to get caught by a spider girl for the ensuing sexy fun times (a point comically missed by the party's rogue).
I liked the idea and reading the chapter started the cogs spinning in my head.
As a game it's probably too straightforward. There's a goal and a series of obstacles in the way that will trigger all the sex content as the player is caught and pleasured by various sexy spider women.
(Why I didn't make a simple concept like this first rather than jumping straight from single scenarios to the more complex House of Hellish Harlots, I don't know!)
A novel could also be interesting. I was thinking of taking the typical Stephen King-esque group of a few dorky boys and token girl (but making them all of legal age, obviously!) and introducing them to the interdimensional arachne brothel.
The girl is kidnapped and webbed up with a friendly(ish) arachne in a back room and the boys have to rescue her. Of course they don't and get picked off one by one by a variety of arachnes, all with their different 'specialities'.
I think it would need to be more light-hearted and comical than my regular stuff. i.e. similar to the Interspecies Reviewers idea in that it's still a brothel rather than a slaughterhouse.
I was thinking I'd subvert the usual damsel-in-distress trope and have the girl and her interactions with her arachne jailer be the reason things stay comical sexy fun rather than lay-an-egg-in-your-skull Bad End fun.
I reckon I could always throw in a bully/jerk character with less than noble intentions to the 'prize' if we want to have a smidgeon of the regular Bad End ickiness.
Just ideas at this point. Don't worry, I'm not going to suddenly start lurching into this as I'm currently busy writing new scenarios for HoHH.
I really wish I could write faster. So many ideas and so bloody slow at implementing them! :D

I've seen some of the CYOA books. Maybe. I quite like complex indie videogames, so the problem is staying disciplined and keeping it simple - long passages, short decision trees. Also a good point on the comical erotic monster girl books. Light-hearted isekai worlds seem fairly popular (nothing wrong with them, to be fair). I've always tried to be the writer that gives a bit more teeth to their monster girls to give some variety to that. I think an arachne brothel probably still works best as fake scary. Otherwise I'd just do it as a rescue mission in H-space and have the soldiers picked off one by one. (I have a half-completed bee-girl story with further ideas sketched out that was an attempt to do that - something else I need to rescue from the temporary hiatus pile).
Instead of making a game or a novel you just could make a simple CYOA book. (But just then it would be better if it remains relatively serious. Because some other authors are already writing comical erotic monster girl CYOA books.)

I'm a bit annoyed I didn't get the 3rd Halloween story done. It would have been perfect. Instead it was just the two horror stories with a pair of scary killer succubi instead. I'm back on House of Hellish Harlots now. For the next break from that I might pick something more light-hearted.

Yes I think that one thing we could all use is a story without death 2020 has been hell and it’s not over yet.

I'd probably run them as bondage-expert dominatrices that neglect to give the boys a safe word beforehand. I'm thinking the tone would be similar to "Night of the Nude Succubus Orgy" (also need to expand that into a full novel!) with a little bit of doubt as to whether they'd survive, but mostly the spider girls fucking them senseless and the boys being okay with it.

The arachne in Succubus Summoning was fairly baby-crazy, although sadly more like egg-crazy in her case. Skeb looks pretty interesting. I love Setouchi's slime girls. The "boob prison" fly girls and boob witch also has some very nice pictures. I'm trying to put a request together that will survive mangling by machine translation.
Can see why this idea set the cogs in your brain spinning. Nothing wrong with comedy spun Arachne fun. Doesn't mean the spider girls couldn't fuck with their minds on the possibilities with them trapped. Would give my libido an erotic spark even though I know(?) I'd be okay.

Sounds like it could be fun. Probably won't include my baby-making fetish though. Though, all it would take is one baby-crazy spider girl... As an aside, you had a look at Setouchi's skeb? What do you think of some of the stuff he's done?
