Thanks for the chapter! One small note: You might want to change "'But if it bought me strength, then I’d only want that strength so fewer people have to die.'” into more active language like "'But if it bought me strength, then I'd put that strength to use to prevent more people from dying.'" Although passive language seems like it'd be a part of Jessica's natural cadence as well so it's up to you.
