I imagine the sequence went like this. She got a notification about a quest during the encounter but ignored it because she was busy. As she was walking away and far enough to feel safe, she got the quest prompt. She stared at it and read it, unsure. It proooobably hinted at finding another speach-understanding animal, the thing she was most curious about. She accepted it out of *curiosity*. Then she flinched when the quest details spilled the beans on our protagonists, with a punishment for failure added on top. She pounded in frustration, having JUST SAID that "curiosity kills quicker than hunger" and now she's a victim of her curiosity.

You know, thinking about it, I wonder if genzo also got a quest after the first meeting with unnamed. I want to imagine he was not acting with an ulterior motive back then, and also that the MC is not so important to the system itself to warrant giving multiple entities quests to help her along, but it bears thinking about.
