Be honest: is this worth finishing? I'm not in too deep, yet.
This has to be at least as good as the original and must bring something new to the table for it to be worth the time it'll take to finish, polish, and ship it.
I didn't change the melody much, but I did sing this much more, um, "raw" than before, meaning it is out of key, which is characteristic of the genre. I did it on purpose, though, so maybe that makes it less authentic, but whatever.

I wasn't sure what to expect at first reading the post, but once I played it I was blown away. I am not sure if this will make sense, but this very much feels and sounds like a "live" performance, like one you'd do for the troops. It feels like you're on stage in front of tens of thousands belting your heart out. I love it

It's that I haven't done a very good mastering and I'm singing slightly out of key, maybe? I think this one is a bit of an aquired taste. Like sardines.

I have a preferential view towards the lyric play, the bass pops off. The question of whether or not it will be as good as the original to the broader public, I'm not fully sure on. Public sway is hard to read imo. I think the key thing isn't very normie or safe for general popular drive. But again, I don't always have the best scale for reading this stuff in a public scene. I like it, I would say I want to see it given the treatment...and I guess thats the tldr lol

Personally, I am against the whole off-key aspect of it. I like the original and think it's great. But I may be in the minority here.
