Locating a relatively flat rock nearby, you excitedly remove your dagger from it's sheath and begin the process of carefully scraping away the photo to reveal the map below. In your excitement you're probably not as careful as you should have been, but you manage to do a pretty decent job.
Unfortunately you seem to have scrapped the X right off your map. Aside from that minor detail you can actually make it out pretty well. And that pesky little X? Well, not to worry, you remember where it was... basically.
You look down at the pile of shreds around the rock and sigh. It was a shame you had to destroy the image but at least you were able to retrieve the map. You carefully role it up in a dry piece of cloth and stick it inside a hidden pocket within your tunic.
You're pretty sure you know the area depicted by the map. In fact, as luck would have it, you're already headed the right direction. You'll still hit the next town if you follow the course the map denotes but you'll just miss the HAUNTED WOODS by a few miles on your way out of town. It's a pity, but perhaps you'll visit it on the way back.
You opt to have a quick breakfast of berries you found growing nearby rather than use up more of your travel provisions and tying up your rucksack, you prepare to head out.
What are your travel plans for the day?
