Personally I am SO happy and proud of Nintendo for aligning Vivianโs character more in line with her representation in the original Japanese script. Itโs good also that they rewrote parts of the script to make that facet of her character a โregularโ quality as opposed to something to specifically highlight and/or scrutinize. I believe Goombella and the Shadow Sirens would misgender her in the original script too, which was removed. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community itโs special to see this sort of representation anywhere, and it feels somewhat monumental for Nintendo to incorporate this script in a Mario game when they could have just swept it under the rug and kept the original English script. Proud of Mario and Nintendo!!
