I’m feeling you on the Donna recast. For me its strange cause I’m very familiar with the actress being the mom on OTH lol that’s the only thing I’ve ever seen her in so seeing her so much younger playing in this role just feels completely off and takes me out of it as I’m watching. Also Laura was a character on OTH’s mother as well so yeah feels very strange. 🫠

If it's an easy fix, I would like to ask if you can increase the volume on your videos. These videos especially had me maxing out the volume on my computer. Thank you!

And you are spot on with your final analysis: According to Lynch, the movie is about "the loneliness, shame, guilt, confusion and devastation of the victim of incest". After the film's release, Lynch told that he received many letters from victims of parental sexual abuse, who "were puzzled as to how he could have known exactly what it was like". Sheryl Lee said that many victims of incest told her they were "glad that [the film] was made because it helped them to release a lot".

Season 3 did in fact come out 26 years after S2 so they where off by one year :). Due to the commercial flop of this movie two other planned Twin Peaks movies where cancelled and one which would have been a spin off with Audrey Horne who:s pilot script was changed and became Mulholland Drive.

David Lynch and Mark Frost cryptically announced the reboot or continuation or whatever you want to call Twin Peaks The Return (season 3) by tweeting out, “that gum that you like is going to come back in style”. Which I think is genius

The deleted scenes are really interesting, and at least 3 of them are (In my opinion) really good to prep for the next part of the series.

The beginning of season 3 is 24 years, 8 months after the season 2 finale. Episode 16 (the penultimate episode before the double header finale) is one day before 25 years.

I'd forgotten what all the scenes of the fan meant in the show, so seeing the movie explain it was a surprise to me. It really adds a lot looking back now to see how direct a symbol it was.

Highly recommend watching the 90 mins of extras, also known as "The Missing Pieces" and then into the Return.

Incredible reaction!!! You can watch The missing pieces of firework with me. There are some great things there. It's a great watch and after that you can continue with. "Twin Peaks: The Return" (also known as Season 3). But there are some people that go directly to the show. David Lynch was a genius in so many different ways he created a universe that is complimented also with future films like Mulholland Drive as a matter of fact, Mulholland Drive was initially going to be part of an episode or spinoff of Twin Peaks.

Buffy/Angel is one of my top 3 series, and Twin peaks is one of the other, so it was great when I saw you starting it, Alley. Since you've seen the movie, I'm not sure if other people have recommended it yet, but before 'The Return' I'd recommend watching one of the 'deleted' scenes. It was in the FBI office, the scene where David Bowie's character suddenly appears and the edit gets real strange with Bob and stuff? That was actually two seperate scenes they 'merged' to cut the runtime of the film down, but both on their own are worth watching (and more insightful). If you're interested, I'm sure someone can send them to you (Or I could if you wish.)

I've got a lot to catch up on! I'm glad that you've been enjoying Twin Peaks so much.
