That's what I always thought. Thopher makes another Thopher. The imprint in Sierra may not know they are him but it's all of his personality. It adds depth if you think that Topher believes know one else could be his friend. The only one that gets me is me. That's why he has no IRL friends.

In case no one has mentioned it before, Maurissa Tancharoen is married to Jed Whedon. Jed is Joss's brother.

My takeaway is that Topher's friend, the one he imprints Sierra with, is mostly just Topher himself. They share a lot in common including some of the same mannerisms.
