The first truly great episode of Dollhouse, and certainly not the last! The news interviews are a great touch here, as you said pointing out the different interpretations that people might have about the moral and ethical ideas depicted on the show. Then the "main" plot with Paul tracking down Joel Miner and meeting Echo/Caroline/Rebecca is just great -- the conversation between Paul and Joel is super interesting and well acted. Then the revelation, via Echo, that someone inside the Dollhouse is secretly sending Paul information, meanwhile Paul's neighbor Mellie is secretly a sleeper Active... there's just so much in this episode it's hard to believe they fit it all in one episode. And I haven't even mentioned the plot with Victor and Sierra. Boyd uncovering and taking down that scumbag handler was great. Overall this is just about a perfect episode. Virtually no wasted time, there are multiple storylines that all move forward at a good pace and either wrap up in a satisfying way or leave us hanging and wanting more in the next episode.
