She's lightened her hair, no short fringe and it's more wavy - plus she's wearing more makeup. Also they changed Lorne's look in this season as seen when Fred calls him, his chin and nose are noticeably less long.

Regarding Lilah... I think the only major difference in this episode is her makeup, it was noticeably dialed down in that board meeting scene. I'd like to think it was a character choice, but in all honesty I don't know for sure. In the past her dolled up style may have given some contrast to the horrific actions she was taking, but at the same time, she was also more frightened of her employers. One of the reasons I prefer Lindsey to Lilah in the earlier seasons is because he spends less of his time cowering in the corner than Lilah does, that's changed now - and probably, also her reason for wearing the "shield"/"mask" that makeup gives. This might be a total hypothetical, I don't remember paying attention to this the last time I rewatched the series, so this might also just be a one off thing..

Okay.. I really dislike this season, some of the storylines are my least favorite in the entire buffyverse - but it still has its moments.. and this episode is one of them.. This is the first time I realized the correlation between Liam's dad kicking him out of the house for his behavior and Angel doing the same to Connor just now.. that was masterful. Also, I've been saying it in my head for quite some time now - but episodes like this are why I love Wes so much.. his evolution from the pompous bumbling idiot of Buffy s3 to this cold confident badass of Angel s4 is a marvel of storytelling and a heck of a statement to Alexis's acting ability

The cheesy speech at the end, I kinda like it. Actually I really like it. Since "Epiphany" Angel is very clear on just what his purpose is and this is a wonderful place for him to restate it. Anyway I really like that about him, nothing better than a hero with clarity.

Lilah’s coup on Linwood is amazing. It was strange having him as her boss compared to Holland or Nathan, who seemed to put Wolfram & Hart’s interests first. “This is my corner in the sky” shows that he didn’t, and assumed because of his position he was untouchable. Lilah knows too well from personal experience that no one’s untouchable, and that’s why she won.

Very excited to get stuck into this season in years past I have always said it is my least favourite season in the entire buffyverse but I have not actually watched the whole season in years now that I am older I am curious if my opinion has changed based on the first episode it might because that was a really good opening episode
