People died in Charmed, all the time so I wouldn't say it's light hearted at all. There's not a lot of death in light hearted shows.

Buffy is definitely darker than Charmed, no argument there. I don't think it's as lighthearted as Sabrina though. I can't really give my reasons as to not spoil anything for Alley or anyone else who may want to watch it at some point. Just my opinion, but I feel a better comparison would be to season 1 of Buffy. It has a similar feel to that.

I feel like comparing Charmed to Buffy is gonna sorely disappoint reactors. And I say this as someone who watched both shows (and loved both) when they originally came out on the WB. Charmed is much, much lighter and comparable to something like Sabrina the Teenage Witch or at times Lifetime/ABC Family quality. Not that she shouldn't watch it, I'd stick around for it for sure, but let's lower her expectations a bit lol

I agree with those who said you should watch Charmed (the original, obviously). It's the most similar to Buffy and Supernatural (while still being its own show, of course). I've been trying to get reactors to do that one with no luck so far. I think someone said you're watching Firefly next though. I have no interest in that, so I might unsub once Buffy ends, but if you end up watching Charmed at some point, I will 100% subscribe again. I've been dying to rewatch that show from a reactors standpoint.
