I love the Willow/Tara scene at the Bronze and love seeing how strong Tara has gotten when she confronts Will about using too much magic. She has come along way since her S4 super shy ways. Oh no didn't Willow! that is pretty messed up thing to do to someone you love. I love Halloween eps too Alley, and I thought it would have gotten a higher rating. Aw nice first kiss story Alley. I think I was 12 when I got mine. It was barely a kiss,it was so light. Who the hell knows what they are doing at 12! At least not way back in the day. Nowadays kids know alot more.

banger of an ep tbh it's got everything. spuffy bestieism, giles gilesing, tillow drama, xanya drama, dawn being adorable. i luv dawn but i know it's probably been low-rated bc of Historic Anti-Dawn Prejudice 😠

God, I love this episode. I've seen it so many times that I would give myself decent odds of being able to literally quote the entire thing word-for-word. I've got a literally 20-year-old copy of that CD somewhere. To this day, it is still staggering how a concept that could easily be a gimmick just really, really isn't, that it's absolutely integral to moving along the arcs of each and every character. Just so, so good.

This ep has a special place in my heart. It was the first ep I saw after the season three finale. I missed two years of Buffy and was throughly confused. Who's that and that? Since when did Buffy have a sister? Isn't Spike a bad guy? Willow has a girlfriend?

Hi L-o-l-a! Alley is using SlayAlive's Reactor Guide which is slightly different: http://slayalive.com/showthread.php/3924-The-Buffy-Angel-watching-guide?p=129360&viewfull=1#post129360

The SlayAlive guide lists two Angel eps (Fredless, Billy), then three Buffy eps, the first of which is All the Way. I'm not seeing Billy in the reactions. I hope you're coming back to that one! Also, I join in the congratulations for getting your Master's, Alley. Been there. It is NOT easy, so you should be super proud of your accomplishments!

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find Dawn irritating at all. Probably because of how I was raised.

I think that the one sentence was "There's always consequences."

Oz had similar apprehensions about Willow delving more into magic. And now Tara, someone who knows dark power far more than Oz, is saying the same thing. And Giles as well of course. Spike, assuredly the most adept main cast member at reading people, saw it too. "That's the thing about magic. There's always consequences. ALWAYS!"

I love Dawn, so I like this ep. Also, a lot of it reminds me of Season 1, which I also love.

Happy Friday the 13th! Congrats on becoming a Master! I appreciate the Dawn sub-plot because it’s a reminder of her innocence yet also shows her strength. Her thievery is a classic teenage trope but I like how it’s not solved in one episode. Willow’s arrogance and control issues are just starting to simmer. It’s a little jarring to see her and Tara fight but I feel like the writing is solid. Xander’s deer-in-headlights response to admitting the engagement is totally in line with his character. For most people there’s an expectation to find a partner and commit to the goal of building a family. For some it’s easy but for others it can also be terrifying. Even if you have a great partner. I can relate.

I think this episode might be lower rated because of how many people don't like Dawn. Dawn-centric episodes aren't often well rated, unfortunately.
