Lilah is the best original Ats character, one that didn't come over from Buffy. Lorne is a close second for me.

Lilah is one of the two or three best characters on the show.
Phoenix Dawn
She is so delightful!

I'm so glad you like Lilah. Hard to believe there are people that don't

Groo's "...if she asks" scene is heartbreaking.

Worse than Cordelia's emotions when she thought it was Angel was the look of disappointment she had when it was Groo. I think he'd appreciate at least a "Oh, it's you Groo" and still looking happy to see him.

I believe that in the note, Holtz only wrote "you will become who you are meant to be (or whatever the exact quote was)" Amd Angel; said "Connor" and in the alley Holtz said "Steven" showing he meant it differently than Angel interpreted it.

Poor Lorne missed the ballet to baby sit this child!

I don't really like these episodes in Season 3 once Connor returns. And they clearly have no idea what they're doing with Cordelia and her powers at this point. The MVPs of this episode to me are Lorne and Lilah with their one liners.

What a tragedy. Holtz lost his own children, but then got a second chance with Connor. And what does he end up doing? Leaving Connor in a strange world filled to the brim with hatred for the man who áctually cares for him, and who could help him navigate that world. Holtz was given a chance for redemption, but could not overcome his hatred. He failed.

This is where Holtz turns the corner from sympathetic figure to straight up villain. By pulling off his final revenge/suicide, he’s leaving Connor entirely alone in the world, or actually, alone with Justine, which is worse than being entirely alone. (Love that you can’t remember we name.) His hatred was enough to screw up the life of a kid who was entirely innocent in this. Love that you’ve come around on Groo. I love him, he’s so earnest and hilarious. He and Cordy don’t belong together but I always hoped he’d stick around and be a part of the team. I strongly dislike Cordy’s short blond hair. The glowy thing has never been my fave either. Finale here we gooooo!!!!

Rewatching this season again has made me realise how little of the last 5 or so episodes I actually remember other than the really big parts I hardly remember anything, I actually really like this episode it's very simple in that its all about Connor and his relationships with both his fathers it must be so tough for him not knowing what is true and what isn't I do think Holtz loved him in his own way but his hate for angel was stronger, I have mixed feelings on Holtz as a villain I think the backstory is very interesting and he is probably the one who has been able to hurt angel the most but the performance and execution can feel very bland sometimes for the story it is I wish we had some more flavour

The more I rewatch this episode, the more it breaks my heart when Lorne says “That’s ‘Uncle Filthy Demon’ to you!” Lorne had been taking care of Connor since he was born, and to have the same boy hate him over a span of two weeks (for Lorne) must have hurt more than when Wes knocked him out.
