got so much with Faith, the mayor, new watcher, Angel, even Willow... AHHH SO MUCH GOOD STUFFF
but yeah also, for my end analysis of Faith when I dive into more psych stuff, I am being really general about the theories so its easier to understand, but if I got anything wrong pls tell me. I don't wanna spread false information. I do try my best to keep the information as true as I can tho. and of course, if you don't agree with how I applied those theories to Faith, feel free to leave ur thoughts on it (but also keep in mind, I have no idea where her character is going, so im just using the info I have rn haha) :)

I completely agree re: Faith probably being sexually abused. She always leans into her sexuality as a way to gain power over men - she even calls Giles "young and cute" pretty much as soon as she meets him - which is not an uncommon response from someone who has experienced sexual trauma. And if you give that traumatised person super powers.... There are few men in Faith's life who actively say that they're not interested in her sexually and those are the men she forms the closest bond with. There's a lot to unpack but won't get into it until much later to avoid spoilers.

No matter how you choose to pronounce Jung, I really enjoyed the psychoanalysis portion of your reaction. Keep 'em coming. Faith is a very traumatized person. Aside from the horrible murder of her original watcher, we also know that her mother is dead. There's also evidence that Faith was physically abused by her mother. ("My dead mother hits harder than that".) All of this occurred when she was very young. I've always speculated that she was also sexually abused as a child. It would explain her hyper-sexualization and anger towards men, evidenced by her treatment/attitude towards men and trying to rape and murder Xander.
