There were a couple of others besides the term Eskimo. One would be when Xander is first talking to Upata, and he does that slow, halting thing where he talks to her as if she's stupid, the way people sometimes do with someone they think doesn't know English. Two would be the way Sven (the exchange student Cordelia has at her house) is portrayed. And especially the way Cordelia talks to him, not only in that slow, halting way, like he's dumb, but also in a degrading way, like he's a dog ("Sven! Come!" Giles assuming Upata knows how to translate the seal. Buffy even addresses this when she says, "That was in no way awkward." What he does is sort of like when someone assumes all Asian people are the same or speak the same language. I don't have a big problem with this episode. These are just to answer your question. They aren't gripes, only acknowledgement of the issues.

Been a while since i've watched the Inca Mummy Girl episode, what racist under/over tones did it have? Apart from directly calling Willow's outfit an eskimo?

"School Hard... This is Spike's episode. Everyone else is just in it..." ha! so accurate. Love it lol! So far agreeing with your thoughts and ratings. "Dark Ages... This is Gile's episode, he owns it, lives in it, pays the mortgage..." haha! Personally not one of my favourites, episode wise. I like this backstory but I wished/ felt they could have gone even further with it to ramp up his awesome, darker past. Loved your whole review. I think all the 2-parters this season are epic for characters and plot and story overall. Its a great season that really shows what the series can be, and what it is striving to be. I really enjoyed all your reactions this season, and I like how you did this review :D I hope you will do these for every season end :D xxx
