Unsummoning the tickling demon
🕑 Added 2024-04-02 17:54:47 +0000 UTC"So you're saying all these books are an unbearable drag, and you believe that with what you already know, you'd learn much more if you could experiment for yourself, using the very limited magical knowledge you currently possess?... Do you know that what you're saying is an invitation to disaster? Why do you think that before even teaching you to summon a simple imp, we have you studying safety measures and expulsion spells for months? But... I'm coming up with an idea to give you the opportunity to prove if you're right: I can bring from hell the suitable guest to safely emulate the worst conditions of stress and chaos you could face, so you can put your skills into practice, if you're able to send him back there yourself... If when I return tomorrow morning it's not here, you will have passed the test, and if not, well, at least you'll see it's all going to be laughs..."

Finally! A Defense Against the Dark Arts instructor who really gets it. There’s nothing more inspiring than a hands-on (or tentacles-on?) approach. Very cool.
