🕑 Added 2024-06-08 14:00:52 +0000 UTCi am considering adding Even Littler guys to my collection of guys with big ears and tails. i'm not totally finalized on their range of colors, or whether they actually grow the little ruffs of fur. it may be something they wear as part of big fluffy clothes to achieve that classic garden gnome shape.
they're from the goblin/troll family of guys, and evolved to fill a rat-shaped niche, trading their cousins' tusks for strong gnawing teeth. they live in the cracks of bigger people's settlements and are effectively borrowers, because i love borrowers. they're not a hidden people however, and generally not seen as pests, because they're very clean and keep to themselves. if you leave out table scraps or the classic dish of milk, they will happily do small favors for you, and are good at keeping the house free of dirtier pests like rats and bugs.
i'm sure by the time my queue spits this out i'll have thought of new lore but this is what you get for now. i hope you love them

they definitely prefer living with friends and i think their preference re: burrowing or climbing depends on the environment they live in! i'm sure there is a thriving community of gnome fanciers who deliberately build fancy enclosures in their homes for them

can i keep one inside of a safe enclosure where plenty of enrichment is available? Are they social like rats in the sense of they need two to three friends at all times? Do they prefer to climb high spaces like rats do as opposed to burrowing like hamsters??? I NEED ANSWERS!!! lmao but in all seriousness I love these little guys
