I'd argue that Raven Software's last dying gasp was over a decade ago with Singularity. A flawed, but interesting game that Raven had rescued from being a complete disaster in impossibly short amounts of time. Despite the name of Raven existing even today, they have been dead ever since they were sent to the do hard labor in the Call of Duty mines by Activision.

So, I think I've figured it out. For a company to never fire you, you have to be a slime-stain of a human being. Then they actively protect you. If you're decent, hard working and make them money they throw you under a bus.
