I feel the fundamental problem with Live Services is the assumption that people will still want to play a 2020 game in 2025; we'll have 2025 games to play then. Yes, a handful of games DO get play for years to come; I still log a few hours on Fallout: New Vegas from time to time (admittedly with several gigabytes of lewd mods installed, which kind of changes the experience), but such staying power is the exception rather than the rule. Mostly, gamers are chill with gobbling down one game, moving on to the next, and coming back for the sequel in a few years time. 100+ hours of gameplay was a selling point when the average gamer was 13 and only got new games twice a year on his birthday and christmas. Not so much now that we have disposable income of our own and steam sales. Also, was MS actually using 120 fps as a selling point? Uh... 60 fps is the standard for a reason, dudes: anything more bottlenecks through the human eyeball. Faster than 60 fps is too fast to see as more than a blur, and might actually be illegal under anti-subliminal-messaging laws.

E3 has gone to shit but for a very good reason, it is basically just an ESA trade show. Everybody gets something out of it but the ESA gets everything out of all of it. At the same time that you shouldn't give a shit, it is at least worth half a shit.

This was the worst E3 in memory. So boring.

<i>"Look at my top lad Mysterio!"</i> - <b>Jim Sterling's cigar chomping showbiz promotion M.O. (2019)</b> Honestly the only thing I was even mildly interested in was that <i>Ghostwire Tokyo</i> trailer. It seems like it could be good.

Afflickted

Its staggering how quickly and completely Bethesda fell from grace.
