A Plague Tale: Innocence - Heartwarming And Horrifying (Jimpressions)
🕑 Added 2019-05-17 14:07:43 +0000 UTCA Plague Tale: Innocence is the best game I've played this year. Easily the best.
A stealth game with puzzle elements and a hearty dose of horror, A Plague Tale may turn heads with its killer rat swarms, but the real star is the great writing and character portrayals.
This is something special.

Ain't it kinda great how this game came outta nowhere? At least it feels like that to me. I didn't hear a word about this game from anyone. And then one day it's just...up there on my steam page. It's so refreshing to still have that kinda experience in this blighted wasteland of "Hype Culture." I haven't had a chance to play this yet due to work but seeing Jim's take on it just confirmed a buy for me.

I am a person who has no interest in horror survival games nor puzzle games; this game however intrigues me. The exploding mounds of rats coming from the ground, to the surface and how savage they are to the environment give it that special sort of suspense that would make my heart freeze. There seems to be just enough time to breath before the next horrific stage begins. I may look into it myself.

Hey, a game with the Jim seal of approval? I might actually buy a new game this year!

Also, I'm definitely going to get this now. Forgot to mention that.

Jim, I know positive review videos are a touchy subject, but keep doing them. They aren't entertaining in the way that bad game videos are, but I've found quite a few games that I love because of your positive videos. And for games that I played before seeing your video on them, like Jydge, it's really gratifying to see you enjoy a game I liked.

This is something...unexpected...

A happy Jimpression? Yes please! Also sounds like this game is my preferred style of horror: more suspense than jump scares and torture porn. 🙂
