I wish you all the best, Jim. I also hope you convey the importance of the organ they're intending to remove as it's coming from Jim F*ing Stirling. It's an organ determined to be superfluous by your own body. That's why you're in pain. Your body is wrenching at disgust that it must put up with such a useless thing, and is violently demanding it's removal. This is the only acceptable explanation for your pain, as Jim F*ing Stirling, does not suffer mortal afflictions such as inflammation or infections. Anyway, once removed, ensure that it's passed on to medical science for doctor's to examine. While it's a superfluous organ, it is the pinnacle of what that organ should look like. Stand strong, Jim! You're donation of your body's cast-off will advance medical science for us mortals by decades (assuming we're able to grasp it's many intricacies).
