Feel like I'm gonna be the dissenting opinion here and go with 5. There's something really compelling about a situation like that. Imagine someone trying to keep things under wraps as their body slowly changes a little more every day.

I would say the slower, the better and when it's finally over, it's only to start all over again from the beginning. An endless slow inflation loop, what a dream :D
