Christopher McCoin

It's also possible the gods were unbound originally and because of their nature were able to unseat the primordials and absorb portions of their power. Would also explain why they need unbound vessels to fully express their power.

David

Seeing some of the ancient war against the gods. Good stuff.

Tobie Johnson

Good point, didn't think of that

huskyandhero

and even more so why the gods wanted to use them as vessels, i guess yyero would have used beef.

Tobie Johnson

So Yyero used Risen too just like Beef 🤔 lends to the theory the unbound will potentially become godlike beings

I think the story has a plan; many authors draft an outline and know the direction they would like for each book and the overall story, but sometimes, there are changes from one week to another. Usually, a temper has taken maybe one chapter. Still, this one is probably a lot more involved because it is a grand master tier tempter, the power of the god that was taken, and the restoration of power from one or two primordials. Somehow, it is also impacted by hunger and the power of a cardinal beast. My take on what is happening is that Felix is experiencing events from different periods in time. Now we know that the god's rise came after the fall of the cardinal beasts, who were possibly supreme primordials. We also know that Sivia was a traitor (how or why, we don't know) and that they (the gods) had previously possessed vessels to achieve their goals. The previous chapter also let us know some of the fronts where they were fighting the gods, and we know that one of them fell. The author has been dropping bits and pieces about previous wars, why the continent is how it is, the gods, the primordials, and the cardinal beasts. He is taking the temper as a means to move many storylines forward and to give us more backstory.

Lonnie

There are the Jaast chimeras. Those poor beasts are used and abused by everyone

This whole 3 chapter memory is interesting, but it's just one long skill's GM level vision right?

Low Dudgeon

Perspective. The gods claim they killed the primordials, the gods lie. The gods say they got their powers from the old gods, they lie. The old gods appear to be primordials whose powers were stolen and perverted by the gods.

Frank Armand

If thé cardinal Can kill thé gods, then who destroyed thé Cardinals? Why in the previous part of thé story it was said that cardinal were killed by the gods and for their power stolen? IS the author confusing us on propose or is he writting thé story as it comes to him whitout a plan?

Zack Countler

Our man is MAD right now

James Lucas

Thanks for the chapter!
