Not just monsters. Lost knowledge too. This is gonna be awesome.

Know I am behind but Vvim's memory showing up is expected. Vvim said that "there is much you missed in this memory" and so I have been wondering when it would be revisited. I have a feeling there is much hidden in Shelim and the Labyrinth where the Maw was sealed away. With his Hunger (I am positive it is the Maw herself, somehow cleansed of the madness she originally had and Felix is her Vessel), the crown and stuff, he might find something new in the Labyrinth and in Vvim's tower, three murals were shown and one responded to Inheritor's Will. But remember its current name, Inheritor's Will but was once known as "The Herald's Hook." I think it is a Regalia piece but has yet to fully "awaken" meaning he can't get the full effects from it and its not yet registering. It is limited by his own advancement so he needs to reach the same level as the Herald to actually make it register. I bet the Crown unlocks another mural and the final one will be opened by the final piece. I am betting a mantel (like a cloak) based on the master tier visions he had and the Pathless' Regalia being his mantel.

Agreed. In the previous book, I wondered if we would get more from Vvim's memory. It's nice to see that the loop on that thread is being closed.

Could Felix use Fiendforge + Empyrean Embrace and eat just a portion of the urge in order to at least try and get Atar balanced? Or will Atar have to temper his body and spirit so that it is strong enough to handle Flame?

I cant remember what chapter it was but I remember Vvim in the tower was “guarding” some objects that he said Felix wasn’t ready for yet. That felt like too large of a plot point to just be forgotten about. Will those turn out to be part of this set? Maby it’s time for Felix and party to return to those ruins.

Thank you for the chapter. It's nice to see a building description of the amorphous entity that is the Ruin. The throwback to Vvim's memory from book 3 or 4 was a pleasant surprise. Do they save Atar first or plunder a few ruins after upgrading defenses, repairing the shadow gate, and posting Ves's dad as the old/new governor/ruler of Pax’Vrell? Hopefully, Atar can be restored to some semblance of humanity. Becoming charred skin on bones with no organs makes him look like the walking dead or at least someone who should be in a sarcophagus.

All this terminology, no matter where it originated from first, just proves that at one time Earth was connected to the Great/Grand Harmony way more than history on both planets remember. And all the extinct species that are called familiar things, like minotaur with similar physical descriptions on both planets, is more proof of a connected history long into a forgotten past. The Ruin did a real number on the planet. Wonder if the Ruin is responsible for Earths disconnect from the Great/Grand Harmony? Or has the disconnect always been there? Are we ever going to find out that?

I love that you used that Egyptian axe sword thing for the primary. Could use a kopis and a few other relics now, eh? The Egyptian people had a close relationship with the Greeks at the time. Mesopotamians, Anatolians, Persians, Thracians, Celts, and Romans, integrating various deities and rituals into their own religious framework. They were syncretic. Feel free to stretch out. No one uses Marduk for instance. Love history and love the story.

That was a good chapter.
