Hello, Keepers! For Alpha 0.5, I wanted to bring some new visual content and variety to the game, since I've been focusing more on mechanics for the last few updates. We now have a few more character races, classes, weapons, clothing, abilities and more.
I've added cloth physics to some clothing pieces and I'm very happy with the initial result and how great it can look, though I'm aware it's still quite glitchy at times. It will get better with time as I experiment more with it. There's also a new system for any future "body appendages" like horns or tails, which I used the Imp race to test out.
This update also brings a big rework on the way the main game loop works: Passing of time during Dungeon Management mode should now feel like real-time and no longer turn-based.
This change has been made mostly to allow for future updates where characters will be able to live inside your dungeon in a more immersive way, where you get to see them move around, work, collect resources and fulfill their needs.
I have also addressed other issues suggested by the community, like fixing invaders getting stuck while exploring, recovery of stolen resources when defeating an invader and adding a way for invaders to die from overexertion.
Next month, for Alpha 0.6, I want to work on ways to "improve" your jail cells and interact with captured characters in more ways than you're able to while in normal battle. I also want to work on having them being able to turn into servants and live in your Dungeon, being assigned to work or defenses. I also have some ideas for new clothing and body details, how a slave market could work and a new way to dig out rooms.
