Vidya Job Issues
🕑 Added 2023-06-17 15:49:50 +0000 UTCWhat's life without some drama and uncertainty? Boring, that's what.
This past Thursday I had a meeting with my current contracting officer and asked if my job would be available. They were not able to provide a definitive answer beyond a very light maybe / no. This meeting was just about the darkest contractor meeting I ever experienced in my entire professional life. I am strongly convinced that at the end of August my position will be terminated. I have been actively seeking employment and sending out my resume. Unfortunately the last time I lost my job it took me 6 months to get a new job.
Game Production Status
Currently over 80% of production costs are paid by me by working at my full time job.
Dragon Sleuth Brittany will remain in full production until it is completed and published on steam.
The game projects are NOT being cancelled. I have about three months of new content already paid for. With the prospect of not having a job at the end of August I am changing the production for my projects.
Afterglow Brook - One new animation is currently in production and will be available soon. Afterwards Afterglow Brook will be put on pause.
Strife Issue #2 - Four pages for Issue two have already been paid for. Issue 2 will be paused afterwards.
Janice Serpent Warrior - The majority of the art for JSW demo is complete. I need time to finish putting it together. Once the demo is complete it will be published on patreon and then further development for JSW will be paused.
Failure is not an option. Making games full-time is my goal and nothing will stand in my way to achieve it. This is just a small bump in the road and I will recover.
