An Update on RSS-Reborn and a new project.

RSS-Reborn was one of the first independent projects I created and as its grown to become larger its become more unwieldy and strayed away from the essence of KSP which is the fact that this is supposed to be a game.
I focused too much on including the highest resolution textures, regardless of performance, and compromised on realism and compatibility, and for that reason I will be dropping support for it this December. Don't worry! The downloads will stay up in both the google doc and on GitHub, but I will not be servicing bug reports.
Using everything I've learned from that project, I've started again from scratch, this time with a project called Sol.
Sol has no relation to the mod of the same name by Gth.
In addition to this Sol intends to be a competitor to not only RealSolarSystem but another mod I've neglected, KSRSS, as it includes built in 1/4th scale options, and in the future 1/9th scale options for stockalike players.

Sol has 3 main goals:
- Playability, compatibility and reliability
Players who use 16k textures shouldn't have to suffer the burden of players using high resolution packs, 16k is considered the default in Sol, with 64k (and even 128k!) in addon packs that can easily be hotswapped
In addition to this Sol is intending on being 100% RP-1 balanced and compatible in the V1.0 release ensuring a seamless transition between RealSolarSystem and Sol.
Users have noted significant improvements in performance from both KSRSS and RSS-Reborn and I intend to keep it that way.

As mentioned before, Sol has a variety of options to choose from, allowing you to play the game exactly how you want to.
This includes various system scale settings, orbital reference frames, iconDisplayModes and in the future much more!

- Equality and accuracy
Another thing I neglected with RSS-Reborn were planets other than Earth, however this is not the case in Sol.
Venus has volumetric clouds, every single planet has parallax scatters, scaled and terrain support, Titan has its own volumetric clouds and weather, Jupiter has its own volumetric clouds, etc. No planet is left behind.

Wow the moon stuff seems so crisp and detailed! Any TUFX profiles you recommend for Sol?

(Already answered in the discord but I'll answer here for clarity) V1.0 is intended to release sometime in December! There are a few people who are successfully running Sol with RP-1 in its current state with (as far as I know) minimal issues, and I would always appreciate more people helping out in the bug testing process.
