My secret to makeing perfect resin bases

Printing large, detailed bases in PLA can be a real headache. That’s always my first thought when I need to print a base, they’re big pieces, so I usually go with PLA. But when you're dealing with something like this Terminator base, full of intricate details, PLA just doesn't cut it. You end up sacrificing quality, and that's not an option.
That’s why, in those cases, I prefer resin.
But as you probably know, resin printers and completely flat bases don’t get along.
I’ve seen it over and over again, warped bases, support marks, drain holes… and a whole lot of frustration.
But after tons of testing, trial and error, and late nights experimenting, I’ve found the perfect solution.
A way to print highly detailed resin bases with no warping, no marks, no holes, and a perfectly flat underside.
Yes, really: flat, flawless, and ready to go straight from the printer.

👉 One tip: be extra careful when filling the base after printing. One small mistake and you’ll end up with plaster everywhere. Trust me… I’ve been there.

At least the one I use doesn't get hot when drying, so my fingers are safe. This one dries quickly too, but I won't take that away from you; often, one of the two holes gets clogged 🤣. That's why the first thing to do is remove the air from the cans and, after each use, clean with a paper towel to remove any residue. I even pull the dispenser back so the resin from the tip goes back into the can.

When printing something with a large flat area keeping your supports 8-10mm apart helps to keep it smooth. Well with minimal sanding needed. Does the epoxy give your fingers that warm feeling? Lol I prefer 5 min epoxy that comes in 2 bottles with spouts. It seems like whenever I need more and break down and get the plunger type, one side or the other stick and the gels come out uneven. 😪 Thanks for the tips.
