Online Struggles
🕑 Added 2024-04-13 18:34:36 +0000 UTCIn online chat rooms, would you enjoy having a new way to struggle out of your items that requires patience? Here are the details of what I could add in the May release:
- In a chat room, when you select the method to struggle out, you could pick a fourth “time struggle” option. When you click on it, nothing happens right away, and you go back to the chat room.
- Back in the room, the top right buttons would be hidden, showing only a progress bar and “Stop struggle” button.
- A message saying “PlayerName is struggling to remove AssetName” would be sent in the chat log.
- Your current status would indicate to others that you are struggling, and your facial expression could change if you’ve allowed it on your parameters.
- You could still chat, emote or do basic stuff while you struggle, but you could not use another item on yourself or another player.
- Someone that’s not bound and has access to you could stop you from struggling and make it automatically fail.
- When the progress bar is filled, the item would be removed.
- The progress could be quick for an easy escape or stop somewhere for impossible escapes. We could write “Impossible” in the middle of it when it reaches that point.
The goal is to make struggling more interactive and allows you to struggle while being with your friends. You could still use the other methods of struggling if you prefer. Do you think it would be fun? Thanks!

A loosen option would be a nice addition also, but it would not work great while in chat, I'll have to think about it.

Without a loosen option for those restraints which normally have it with the other minigames, this does not help accessibility at all.

If it's impossible, you'll see an "Impossible" label after a while and you'll have to click on "stop" to give up. It won't affect freeing others or tying others for now, but it could be expanded later. Cheers :)

It would certainly help some folks who are just bad at mini-games. If you did timer based, how would the "that's impossible to escape from, but it is possible to loosen up in another mini-game" mechanic work? Would that just add to the timer, or would you need to play the legacy mini-games to get that option?

I like the idea of struggling to be something that can be role played with. "Oh. Were you trying to loosen that restraint? Here, you've brought out some slack." BUT? Have to say. It kind of bugs me, the disparity between removing restraints, and APPLYING them. I can put an unsuspecting player into a head-to-toe straitjacket, and the first hint she has that I'm doing it, is being told AFTER it's fastened. But. If I want to remove a ball gag that I fastened on myself? Well, now I have a minigame. A "struggle". ----- I'd like to see some re-balancing

some questions: How it will work with impossible to struggle items, will the option be available or the timer will time out after certain period How it will work when you trying to free others not yourself - currently when I trying to free other person, I got the 3 options on some items and depends from the item a minigame will timer option be available for that as well and if so will timer will have same length as if doing it on myself or be quicker when performing on another person.
